They changed up how they mill their name in thier stuff now. This also applies to thier fancy master cylinders. It's supposed to be less "in you face".
They wanted me to have thier latest stuff on my car for SEMA.

They also have a new C6 Z06 style caliper that it SOOOO nice, wouldn't fit in my wheel though :(

you mean the four piston?
If so it's exactly the same except the written out piston count.
Let me know, I can take pics of anything you like :)

IMO, if you want less "in your face", go with a black caliper. They stay pretty much hidden!

Ha...thats what I was thinking, a big bright red caliper is gonna be in your face no matter how you logo it:razz: I guess I'm weird though because I like the old ones a little better, but both are nice. I'm just glad I got both front and rear at the same time so they at least match.

I think anything besides black is bling. Yellow strikes me as particularly ridiculous, red is "look at me", but not as bad... maybe after years of porsche 'big reds" etc I'm getting used to it. Flame suit on.

I like the red. Besided, I had them in black on the last two cars and was craving the red ones. :)
I didn't mind the old logo. This was Wilwoods idea due to customer requests and they wanted their new stuff on the car.
The old brakes are already sent away.

I think anything other than grey or black primer on a car (as a rust preventative) is "bling" and is just an attempt at "look at me". ;)
And you commenting on someone likeing yellow calipers as being "rediculous" is as goofy as someone saying the same about green paint of polished wheels.
Different people like different things. How boring it would be if all our crap looked alike.

Yea, they do their own coating now "in house" and offer up a ton of colors. I think they will do custom colors as well. I know they also have Silver and I think Orange.

No offense taken, and note that I did say “Yellow strikes ME as particularly ridiculous”, not that I think people who buy them are ridiculous. A subtlety, but an important one. I understand that this falls in the different strokes for different folks category. Obviously the manufacturers know this too and offer colors as an expensive option.
Most of us would probably scoff at a otherwise black & aluminum engine compartment that suddenly had a bright red or bright yellow alternator. Are brakes really any different? To my eye, colored brakes fit into this category, that’s all. If I had yellow, red, or blue calipers on my car, those would be the only instances of that color on my entire car, and to this car owner that would be...yep, ridiculous. Less is usually more.
That being said: zz3elcamino, those reds on the red car look very nice.

There is a g bar ready rear end. Have one of those going in my ride. It's going to be a bitch to bleed those brakes Frank:banghead: Easy fix their boys. Swap the calipers and it's done. Can't say I think wilwood needed to change the old design but if you don't change your design once and a while it gets stagnant.

Yes. that would be a G Bar ready rear and Lisa itty bitty 14" rear brakes.
Don't worry about the little caliper boo boo. Those were quicky mock up pictures working out some other issues.
I tried to fire the brake installer, but I had to re hire as it was affecting my sex life to much!

i hate being a billboard for manufacturers, unless they're going to pay me to advertise
just order my wilwoods friday, so i'm prolly stuck w/ the hey-look-at-me version
planning to blast & repaint rotors a solid color to dilute the flashy appearance

Point taken :) . But I would be willing to bet that someone with yellow calipers has either a yellow car or other yellow to tie it all together. The calipers, if colored, need to tie into the car in some fashion.
Red is an exception. I can think of many "performance cars" with red calipers and no other red on the car. Porsche, Dodge and most notably the C5 Z06 Vette. No matter what color Vette you buy it has red calipers.
In my case I have other red "accent" parts on my car. Just a few, but some.
We don't have to hug now do we? lol

The brakets are part of that mock up process I was talking about. The brackets are being changed as we speak. It is fun being the guiney pig with a short deadline, LOL! We should have the rear nailed next week when the new rear gets here. Then we will make sure she puts the calipers on correct, LOL!

I'm still having a hard time with the yellow, maybe that 'ricer' movie, one and two, wrecked my brain.
But if the car was yellow...
I always have a hard time with colors, thats why I always ask for help...

The colors silver, blue and yellow, along with polish, are all available and have a small up charge. Black is standard color, Red is one up charge, then the other colors are a additional upcharge.
Most times I like black calipers, but I think the additional cost is worth it when it works. For example we have a black car with blue stripes coming in and were putting blue calipers Wilwoods on it. I think black and blue will be dead sharp! On this particular car red would be a horrible clash, and black calipers would disappear into a sea of black. Usually I like red calipers on black cars, but not in this case.
But now black on Michaels White / black California two tone Monte Carlo is perfect. The black calipers really pull the black upper color in. So I think it really as to do wth a theme.
Since Project EmptyNest is getting blue accented centers on the snowflake wheels, which the wheels are not done yet. I have black calipers ready if the blue calipers clash "too much".
