Hi all, my name is Jim, I am from Moore, Oklahoma. The picture was taken in 1980 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. It is of my 1970 Camaro and me. This is my first car, I bought it in 1977 and it was my daily driver until 1984. I have had the car under cover since then, keeping it started and an occasional drive.
I dreamed of "fixing up" my Camaro growing up and I got some of it done, paint, crush velvet seats, engine... Back then about the only thing you could do to the supension was Rancho sway bars and good shocks (thats all I knew of anyway). I am amazed with the selection of parts available now.
I have built a couple of other vehicles to include a 1959 Chevy Apache SBSS and a 66 A/C Cobra kit. I sold the pickup years ago and recently sold the Cobra to help fund the Camaro restoration.
I will be on the planet for 46 years in November and will have had the car for 30 years in December, and that is what inspired this restoration.
The car is getting a complete frame off restoration. The body is about ready for plastic media blasting. Lots of powder coating to be done. See link to pics. I was amazed with the condition of the floor pans and the body in general. Most of the parts have been refurbished or purchased and include:
Chevy ZZ383 425HP Crate engine
Eliminator Vortec Intake
Speed Demon 750 CFM carb
MSD Ignition
Muncie M-21 four speed
12 Bolt rear w/3.73 gears and Auburn posi
Hotchkis front and rear sway bars
Baer 4 wheel disc brake system
Global West G-Plus upper and lower A-Arms
Autometer carbon fiber gauges
Complete new interior
and numerous other parts.
I am leaning toward TT309 wheels.
I look forward to seeing other projects and to having a place to ask questions.
I will keep you updated in the project forum.

Welcome to the site, Jim. 30 years, huh? I've owned my yet-to-be-completed project for 5 years and it feels like forever. Good luck on your build.
