Hey guys, today i was taking my rear end apart so i could send it out to the powder coaters. Well when i took off the rear cover the gears inside didnt look stock by any means the only markings that i found on it was "M/W enterprises 53160-E and 58100-E" the only thing i found remotely close was mark williams enterprises. could this be them? here is a link to the website- http://www.markwilliams.com/default.aspx
any help would be great

so it seems as though I possibly scored? payed 2100 for the GTO and a built pontiac 400 motor and now the rear end. was it all worth the 2100? lol

Wow im glad i did the work by myself then.
And yup that looks like a spool rear to me. I would opt. for a posi-unit but thats just me.

A drag racer would be all over the spool... but you don't want it for the street.
Nice shoes ;)

not quite sure on the gearing yet but i sent an email to MW enterprises Count the teath on the ring and on the pinion and divide them and that will give your gear ratio. ring 41 pinion 11 = 3.73

Remove an axle shaft and count the splines. Chances are.... if someone made a call to MW and ordered a spool AND shafts at the same time they may have increased the spline count. This is something you will need to know before 1) assuming you can re-use your shafts with a different posi carrier, 2)buying a posi carrier, 3)listing the spool for sale,
Spools are not cheap- usually $150-$250 depending on application and spline count, and they dont wear out so you should not feel bad listing it for 75% of retail.....

...is his stuff any good?
You will find NO better.
A billet main cap with 1/2" allen head cap screws... a high pressure spline spool... yeah. That is the real deal.
Remember that you can not use that spool with any other axles... only M/W axles.
The steel main cap runs about $60... the spool runs about $275 and then there is the labor envolved. The tubes are not welded and it doesnt looked to be butcherd up... it looks like you should get some good money for it !
You might want to run the housing numbers (passenger side axle tube and web casting numbers) to see what it came out of as that can make it possibly worth more.

the housing says its the GTO rear end.

A 67 GTO would have had a 8.2" ten bolt. Sounds like you may have a Chevelle rearend.
As mentioned above MW is some of the best stuff you can buy.
