View Full Version : 70 Chevelle Chassis Progress

Here are some quick pics I took of the progress of the chassis on my 70 project. The frame is powdercoated all gloss black and all the suspension components are powdercoated charcoal.

I should get some better pics tommorow when we finish the brakes and the wheels and tires.

Is the car a convertible? Please explain the extra bracing? Very interesting.

THe car is a coupe. We boxed the frame rails and the extra bracing that you are asking about is for the transcrossmember that we built for the 4l80e

Air Ride Tech Rear 4 Link and Bags Mounted on a Currie 9 Inch.

The front is Air Ride Tech Shockwaves and Lower control arms with their sway bar. The upper control arms are the SC&C race arms with their upper and lower ball joints.

The bracing looks great. I see that the crossmember is flat how do you plan on running the exhaust?

We had the body back on the chassis before powdercoat and checked for clearances. Going to be tight but we will probably use oval tubing to build the exhaust.

Looks like I overlooked ordering a rear sway bar so im going to need to do that here real soon.

Also one question. Do your kits usually provide hardware for control arms and such? Also do you normally provide air fittings for the bags?

Here is a pic of the rear wheel mounted and the brakes installed. Still need to paint the brake calipers.
