I measured it out and it looks close on the front wheel and tire set up.
I need to hear from any 2nd generation camaro owners that have run a
17x8,
4.75 inch BS
255/45/17 tire.
in front.
I would like to go to a 5 inch BS, but vintage wheel works dose not to seem to have that option on a 17x8.

That's just about the perfect setup in the front. Most guys run a 245/45-17 up front though, with a 275/40-17 out back on a 9.5" rim with 5.5" backspace. In the rear you could also do 285's.

I was planning on a 15x9.5 in back with a 295/45/17 street radial that Mickey Thompson just came out with. I measured it out and its tight but will fit nicely tucked in the rear fender.

Where did you see a 295/45/17?
Curious to know the actual dimensions.
Thanks,

I was running VWW V-40's on my '70Z in that exact sizing but somehow they found they're way onto my '69Z...and now they won't come back!
Here they are on the '70,sizing is as follows:
Fronts:17x8 (4.75" b/s) 255/45's
Rears:17x9.5 (5.5" b/s) 285/40's
No fitment issues whatsoever...

Now, '70Z has American Racing 200S in the following sizes:
Fronts:17x8 (4.5" b/s) 255/45's
Rears:17x9.5 (5.5" b/s) 285/40's

And the '69Z stole my Vintage Wheel Works V-40's!

Cool man...you going with the straight-spoke V-40's or the curved-spoke V-45's?
Also...don't be afraid to call Rusty @ VWW if you haven't already ordered,M Pozzi did and bought a few pairs of "blems" from him...I could not tell the difference...but they were $$$ less.I bought my packages from www.newstalgiawheel.com

I was thinking of going the V-45 curved spoke. I plan on ordering the wheels in the next couple of weeks. Thats not a bad idea about the "blems" to save a little cash. I'll be sure to give them a call before ordering any wheels from them. Thanks for all the info it has really helped out.

The blems were dirty/black around the weld on the back side of the wheel. The front was fine.
The center hole had to be opened up very slightly to fit over the Baer Brake aluminum hub.
For autocross, we put a 275/40/17 up front. Slight contact with the inner fender to the rear of the wheel at full lock, just one side.
