im trying to mate a 1997 gm t56 to my 406 cube small bock chevy. heres the problem. i cant seem to find a flywheel for a 400 sbc external balance motor for this swap. its a 168 tooth flywheel. i know ill have to clearance the bellhousing for flywheel clearance with the 168 tooth. my question is. what flywheel do i use to get the lt1 pull style clutch to work with this and is it possible in any way to use a 153 tooth? thanks in advance

You HAVE to use a 153 tooth in a LT1 setup. The bellhousing will not clear a 168 tooth version.
McLeod part numbers:
2pc rear seal, 400, zero balance-460370
2pc rear seal, 400, counter balance-460370-2c

Tyler correct me if Im wrong, but he could also use a stock 153 flywheel external balance, if Im miss informed, explain, cause I would like to know the difference, besides the price and weight.

I believe the flywheel for the pull-off LT1 clutch is different than the standard flywheel for a regular clutch. You need to buy the complete assembly of flywheel, pressure plate, and disc with the throwout bearing.
