I have an 86 Monte Carlo SS I want to put the wheels pictured on it, they are available 17x9.5 56mm and 18x9.5 57mm. what will it take to make them fit ? I currently have the car lowered with eibach springs, It will also have the SCandC AFX setup on it. I'm not looking to do any modifications to the frame. whatever I do to make them fit must be safe, I drive the car on the street and when done it will probably see some time on the autocross.

Spacer thickness is variable based on what backspacing would currently be used on a 9.5" wide wheel. Say for example you needed 5.5" of backspace to make a 9.5" wide wheel fit. That translates to an offset of 0.75" or 19.05mm. A wheel offset of 56mm would require a 36.95mm spacer (1.455"). At that close a 1.5" spacer would work. So just figure out what BS in inches is needed to fit 9.5" wide up front now and the rest is easy (I have a calculator built in Excel so I just plug in the numbers and voila!).
