When I asked my alignment shop for 1/8" of total toe they gave me 1/8° (degree) of total toe. The car wanders all over the road. I don't want to pay another $80 for them to smash my header tubes on their rack while they fix the toe. I can calculate how many turns it will take to get me back to 1/8", but I need to know if the toe should be measured at the edge of the wheel or edge of the tire.

You can do it a couple of ways.

But here is an info link on just that: http://www.longacreracing.com/articles/art.asp?ARTID=12

Here is a handy conversion chart. it converts toe angle degrees to inches.
