ok where to start. well here we go. i have a 65 coupe that i would like to eventually turn into a pro-touring/ mild strip car. prob 2-4 drag strip visits a year. anyways i would like to do some type of m2 front suspension and in the rear i dont really know what the best way to go would be. i have read alot about the tri 3 link and also the watts link. what about just a standard four link? I plan on running at least 18" 315's maybe 335's.also what is the best m2 front setup? the powerplant is going to be a 351 based stroker with a t56 behind it. so far i have hacked out all sheetmetal from the back seat back and have installed subframes from the end of the front rails all the way back. i know that i'll be able to do all the framework but i dont have the tools to do the tin. what does that normally run? anways thats a good start for now i'll try and get some pics up soon as well, thanks in advance-Nick

also how much of a drop can you do with the m2 setup. i am looking to have an overall ground clearance of about 3-5 inches

Sounds like an awesome plan. With the M2 set-up, it'll ride REALLY low. Alot of Mustang guys will tell you that your taking alot of rigidness out of the car with the M2 set-up. If thats been proven or not I dont know. As far as what kit to get, I would say the Heidts kit.

You can get all the M2 info and then some over at Stangnet.com

between my 96 mustang I had and my chevelle I would say you really can't go wrong with the 4 link setup I know that sometimes the wheel will bounce on those systems but you can correct them with aftermarket arms second a cobra IDS would be another great way to go

Checkout my car:

MII front end and Rear CoilOvers from R&C; I like their setup better than Heidts. 315s are really big; any reason you wanna go that big? Also why the MII? unless you are sticking a 4.6L or a BBF in there you don't need it; you can use one of the many other suspension vendors.

i just want the extra room/ cleanliness of the m2... i eventually want a power adder and i know the the more room i have the better. i had originally thought about doing a complete chassis but i think that will be a little to extensive for my needs. i just want something that i cant take out and enjoy while pushing my driving skills. what are some other ideas for the front suspension setup?

well we have some new things coming out.

I know we have been saying this for a while, but things are really coming around such as jigs getting finished and testing to ensure the quality we we desire. The first thing will be the introduction of our 3-link. Then some other trick stuff for the front.

we are doing the best we can to get these products going. It is taking longer then we originally expected!:pat:

after the baja 1000 we will have alot more free time to get some more products going.

I have MII in my FB BUT I would tell you that if you are not going with a Big Block or some CRAZY combo to keep the stock style front susp. I ONLY changed mine cause I did go BB and the room is much needed. My 68 Coupe was plenty low and still had a stock style front end.
I would not got to all that work and $$$ just for the look....but thats just my .02.

well whats the best way to "dump" the front end, while keeping the stock setup... i had the mustangs plus 620s with a shelby drop. it was nice as far as handling but i want it at least an inch or inch and half lower than that up front. does anyone have the directions/templates for cutting down the shock towers because i know it'll be a pain to put in the big tube headers.

also is anyone running a tubbed setup while still utilizing the back seat?

Get a AirRide System; you can drop it big time.

no pics of the front yet. the rear setup is getting done next week and i will have the pics for the new link kit we have. Then after that the ______ for the front to go with the ______, will make a great budget setup. Then the ______ setup for those wanting serious race quality.

we have really stepped the company up several notches, things have changes and we are coming out with a serious performance punch.

RRS front struts will let you cut out most of the shock towers.
