Hey thanks a lot for the drop. I will look into what it is going to cost to drop the chevelle. Thanks again.

that drop looks to be about one coil's worth. Cutting one coil would not "hurt" the suspension much. Just firm up the spring rate.

I heard that if you cut the springs then the car may not sit level. it that true?

It all depends on how careful you are at where you cut them and weather you put them back in and they "seat" correctly.

Dont use a torch. the heat ruins the springs. Use a cutoff wheel or saw.
Grind the edges of the cut and put a bevel around the edge to prevent any squeekyness. Take the car to an alignment shop immediately after.
It's a good time to look at ball joints and junk while you're at it.
Nice car BTW.

judging by the pics you may need to check the fender to tire clearance and may have to roll the lip a little. (do a search on fender rolling here.)
You may also consider upgrading to a higher quality shock.

fender lip rolling is a way to gain tire clearance. It involves bending the lip up under the inner fender well. There are tools made for this, or you can do it with pliers. good luck.
