I don't know really. I think that Moroso makes a kit to build one, but I don't remember where I heard that. It might be Milodon. I don't remember at the moment. Check them both out. That's about all I know at the moment. Sorry. Too lazy to do the research.

So far what i can find is that Canton is about the most inexpensive pans $200 from them.

Yeah, that's why I didn't bring them up. I'll look around again.

Check out my website for one of the best wet-sump pans for a very reasonable price.

It works.

I have a CV Products pan. It is made by Champ but was a little cheaper from CV Products. It's not on yet, but a good piece & just a little over $200.

I've been running one of the Canton Road Race pans on my Pontiac with a standard oil pump. Their road race pans also come with the provisions for dry sump usage. If you buy a canton be sure to teflon tape the dry sump provisions or they'll weep. I don't know about the Chevy pans but the Pontiac unit also has a windage provision built in. I'm very happy with the pan. I did have problems running a stock pan on my old engine on road courses at open track/HPDE events before I got the Canton and haven't had any problems with the Canton.

I have a 6-qt Canton road race pan on my 383 stroker and it's a sweet piece...you got to fab up a dipstick though because the one Canton sells won't work too well in a F-Body:

Here is a pan Moroso makes: http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categorydisplay.asp?catcode=11955 I have this on my 67 el camino, it fits pretty good and is not lower than the crossmember. Might be tough to get headers to fit with it though. It sticks out approx 4.25" from the side of the pan.

For a reasonable price it's hard to beat the CV Products 1080LTRR as was mentioned.

Go with the CV/Champ pan. There is a specific part number for the road race version... I believe it is 1080LT-RR

Any clearance problmes with the pan (windage tray) and the stroker crank?

My Pontiac Milodon had very poor control on hard braking on the top end at the drag strip,ie the oil pressure would drop big time. The Canton has a better design for Pontiacs. Not sure how the Chevy ones are.
