Guys,

I am in Australia, car sent to chassis guy, told wheels can wait..now tells me they can't need em now. Problem is Budnik's are 12 weeks to get made and sent...

So need a device that lets me put a tyre under the car with the wheel backspace that I am planning, so we can measure out diff length.

I will be running 325 x 17 x 45 tyres.

Rims will be 11 inch with 5 inch backspace.

Does such a device exist and if so where do I get one ?

My only alternative is to buy another rim locally and throw it away after (ie sell for cheap)

325/45/17?i don't know of anyone that makes that tire.usually once you get over 305 the tallest they come is a 35 series.
but what you can do is figure out the overall height of what this combo will be which is close to 29".find any rim/tire combo that is 29" tall and use that for mock up.if you are that wide you are probably minitubbing it so the inside will have room.set the front out of the mock up wheel out to where you want it,measure the distance with the mockup wheels.then figure out how wide the rims are and the backspace and you should be able to do the math to calculate what a 11" rim should be.
i did this with the 15" wheels that came on my car to get the spacing for my 18" wheels and it came out perfect.

Not sure what you are asking exactly, I'm pretty new to this tyre thing hehehe...but I found a blog of some tyre guy which might have the information you are looking for, http://tyres.wordpress.com

Then again, it's a blog, so best double-check anything they claim.

Has anyone ever used the "Mount Mate" by Wheel Works?
Looks slick, but kinda pricey. (too rich for my blood)

Just ordered the Wheelrite from Percy's, can't beat that price at $69.99!

Looks like a modern Champ 500 wheel. I had a few sets of those in the day! I will send her a note.
