Wow, what a day. It was great to get to meet Johnny and see where all the magic happens at PHR. Everyone there, including Johnny, was very nice and it seemed like a great team to be a part of. The nice part is that I see great things in store for our G-Machine segment of the hobby cooking at PHR.

So now the hard part... waiting. I've been doing this car hobby for so long and this has always been a dream of mine. To get paid for pursuing my passion, for doing something I would do for free.

Well, I did my best so its in the hands of the hot rod gods.... Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thanks Tony.. and everyone for the good words. I am on "pins and needles" here so I would have to say that waiting is the worst part. But I feel I did very well today and I gave it my best so I have no regrets.

Ok, I'm going to go stare at the phone some more ;)

Careful about saying you would do it for free. That might just be the offer they hand you. HAHA

Then you would have to borrow money to give everyone your two cents. ;)

Dude, Congrats and good luck.
That would be an AWSOME job once I retire from the NAVY! But I am one of the million dreamers out there.

Sounds like a fun job. However...I got 2 kids to feed. Best leave it to the hobbyist's who aren't tied down.

Best of luck to you. Hope you get it.

Just a quick update. I had another interview today with the publisher Ed. He was a very cool guy and has been in the industry forever. We talked about many things and I left with a really good vibe about how things are going and about Primedia as a company.

And he had a great office, full of die-cast cars and posters of cars from the twister camaro to project x. I get the feeling that they really want PHR to embrace the G-Machine/Pro-Touring segment. We talked for an hour and a half and even if I don't get the position I've met some really great people.

My wife and I are off to Hawaii next week to escape this damn rain that has been tormenting SoCal. I think our condo has internet access so I should be able to still get my car info fix ;)

If I hear anything on this I will let you guys know. Thanks for all the words of encouragement.

Hey Steve Good Luck and I really hope that you get the job, then I can be your European contributor ;-)

I used to know George Elliot who was the editor many years ago if he was still around I could give you a good word to him.

And have a nice trip.

Good luck, Steve! Keep us updated.

Thanks guys.. remember that it does help that I live 5 miles from the PHR headquarters. And I haven't gotten the job but I had two interviews that I thought went very well.

I know Johnny is in Arizona most of this weeks getting Baer brakes on his project car so he is a busy guy.

As for myself, I'm in Hawaii with my wife soaking up the sun but I told Ed Zinke that its ok if PHR wants to call me while I'm on vacation :D

They do have several positions open at Primedia so I hope you all get the "call" eventually. Thanks again for the good wishes.
