Used steering boxes

What's the opinion on race used 12:1 steering boxes from stock cars? If you could buy a NASCAR used Lee 12:1 box for quite a bit cheaper than brand new that was in good shape, would you? My only concern comes from the differences in power steering pumps... will the valving be so different it will totally suck?

Being a cheap bugger, had an opportunity and was thinking about it this morning...
