I have done a few disc brake conversions and replaced m/c and have never seen this happen. Im working on a 67 Lemans installing a conversion kit from: http://www.performancesuspension.com/ its the "silver kit" real basic . Everything bolted up fine , followed directions step by step, made new brake lines nothing leaks.. We went to bleed the system, started on the right rear (got sum fluid out) then the left rear (same as right) when I got up to check the level of fluid in the m/c , fluid was shooting out of the front bowl?!?! even after we had stopped pumpin the pedel it was like a little fountain spraying fluid , high enough to hit the hood? what the hell causes this? is the m/c bad. Any info will be help full.

are you running a line lock? sounds like a master cylinder problem.

I thought it was a general rule that you had to have the MC cap/lid on when bleeding brakes. I think any MC, good-bad-or otherwise will shoot fluid up when you don't have the lid on.

what I gathered from his post it is on and it is getting pressurized.

the cap is on but when I took(to top of the fluid) it off the fluid was spraying out.... is this normal?

Ah, my bad, ok, the fluid hitting the hood had me confused. No, I wouldn't say that's normal though. I'll give myself a :getout:

Hey Joe, weird idea, but...I have a factory disc/drum MC from my camaro that you could use as a test if you want. I know it was working when I took it off. Not sure if that's any easier than just buying another one...but the offer's there if you want.

Sounds funky for sure.

I'm no expert but I did have a bad M/C in my conversion kit and spent hours nad hours and hours fighting to get it bled and finally just bought one from the parts store and had the breaks bled in no time flat. IMO just pick up a reman one for $20 and test it out.
