I have a 05 LQ4 from a GMC Yukon Denali. I am assuming this came with a 4L80e.

If I have the factory wiring harness and cpu/pcm do I need to do anything except reflash/update the computer? Do I need a sperate one for the transmission?

I don't have the original transmission, so anything I should specify if I get one built?

I found this on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=130151594755&rd=1

would that transmission work or should I get one built?

Thanks

Never been used. That's a good buy if the motor will not be built crazy, You do not need a standalone trans controller. You only need standalone if you want manumatic capability. In that case, you will need to re-flash the ECU to an M6 to conmpensate for the standalone trans harness.

You don't need to ditch the stock converter, but you should. It robs power bigtime.

My current plans for the engine are to go with:
L76 car intake with some 4 bolt TB
re-use the truck fuel rails & injectors with adapters if possible
Livernois Motorsports L92 Camshaft (Stage 3 ) (this might change)
Livernois Motorsports CNC Ported Stage 3 L92 Cylinder Heads
GM Performance hydraulic roller lifter set part # 88958689 from SDPC
replace head bolts & rod bolt with ARP stuff
turbo rings and possibly new pistons
ported SLP oil pump & LS2 double roller timing chain
25% Under drive pulley

I eventually plan on a turbo setup but I want to finish the car so I can drive it when I come back to the states in January 2009.

The setup might be 500fwhp and 450rwhp??
I don't know what stall or STR the converter needs to be.

TIA

This transmission will do fine for your application. Add a shift kit and you are done. Don't worry about the converter until after the engine is built. Try to get the engine dyno'd so that you have have the perfect converter built. It will make a world of difference.

Well the 2005 4L80e is on its way, I have a question on the shift kit.

I read that the 4L80E Transgo HD2 Shift Kit was one of the better kits. Are there two or three different ones?

I found the stage III manual setup which I don't think I want and these two kits:
which one should I purchase?
Is there a better kit to buy?
any recommendations?

I found the site: http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com but don't know which kit will work as I ended up with a 05 4L80e
