These are the only two companies that make the hood I want. It's the L-88 style hood that came on the big block corvettes in '69 but made to fit the Camaro. Both offer a bolt on, but I'm using the aluminum hood pins up frot with the Detroit Speed hinges for fiberglass hoods in the back. Which one will require less work by the body man?

I would think VFN then unlimited.

+1 for VFN also. Ive seen a whole bunch of there Sunoco Hoods and WS9 hoods for the 4th gen camaros and t/a and the fit is honestly near perfect. Everything aligns properly with minimun adjustment.

Thanks guys. I know some of their strictly Drag Race stuff is pretty good, I just didn't know how some of their more refined parts were. I'll give VFN a call.

Hard to beat VFN for a quality fiberglass part. Ive used several of their pieces, and all were top notch.

L-88 Bolt on hood from VFN is on the way. Well in about 4-6 weeks anyway. Thanks for the help.

Here is the latest piece I got from VFN. Very well made. The factory chin spoiler lines up really well. Here we are doing a ride height mock up with the front tires placed at the correct track width to check fitment. Its going to work out really well.

I thought about going with there 1-piece front end for my car to save weight. Looks great.

VFN or Glasstek, Unlimited is ok at best in the quality department

I have a VFN hood, looked great. Not to much work to make perfect. Dont forget to put your hood pins in... I did

I do like Glastek and VFN is ok but as for me I have used and sold Unlimited Products and had nearly zero problems.
We had 2 hoods come in looking wierd and the problem was they had some hardner issues(supplier changed bulk supplier and it wasnt as strong, IE it needed to be mixed stronger) but they shipped new hoods free of charge and told us to keep the others, I cut the scoops out and bonded them to other hoods, NAd I still have my long cowl scoop that was the ONLY one long enough to fit a 70 Monte hood well.

Stay away from Unlimited, they are garbage. I spent 30+ hrs on an Unlimited hood (2" for a 64 Chevelle) to get it to fit right. PITA, had to shave the sides, smooth the top, and modify the base where the hinges sit for it to be flush. VFN or Glasstek if at all possible.

Anything you get will require some work to get it to be perfect before paint. Don't be surprised if your body guy says it will take a few hours of prep!
