Does anybody do a hedder kit that fits an LT1 in a 67 camaro.

FWIW, I think all small block Chevy headers for 1st gen Camaro's will fit an LT1 fine. I used Dynomax (Walker) headers on my car with no problems at all.

LT1 exhaust ports are the same as a standard chevy, except I believe they are .100" higher ports, & the D shape.
On the Monte I have headers for the factory 305 on the LT1, work fine. As GeoffP says, use Camaro small block headers. Will work fine.

I also have SBC long tube headers on mine, works good. I bought a set of shortie d-port headers (Hedman #66609) that I have been thinking about putting on for some more ground clearance though.

does your engines sit flat or do they tip down rearwood as if a carb had been fitted ?

I believe it sets the same as a standard small block chevy.

Mine sits flat in the engine bay so fitting an early set would cause the collector to aim up.

Which type of headers are you planning on running (long tube, mid or shortie). Also, some brands tuck closer to the floor pans than others (especially when talking about long tubes).

Planning on running long tubes, Samckitt does your engine sit flat in the car then, ie not angeled down for a carb manifold , have to be sure here as I'm in the UK.

Hi Samckitt and 130fe could you do me a favour and check out the headers on the summit web site number sum g9001-9 to see if they look like the 1s you have fitted thanks.

I just remember that my tranny crossmember is not in the mounted position, so the motor looks like it sets higher in the front than the rear. I would buy headers to fit your chassis with a small block Chevy. It will fit fine.

Paul, yes those are similiar to the ones I have. I have the Dynomax ones #WLK-86001. The only thing I don't like it the driver's side hangs lower than the passenger side. I have to take it easy over speed bumps and such. I have to the Hotchkis springs (front and back) so it is lower than stock. I have read that the Thorley ones fit really well and don't hang below that sub frame.
As for the tilt, the rear of the intake is slightly lower than the front-- not much though.
We have similiar set ups, so if you need more specifics, just let me know.
