I have a th350 in my Trans am. Did a few burnouts and dougnuts and as I am driving away, I feel the rpm jump. I pulled my foot off the gas. I lost all forward gears. I can go about 5 mph at 3000 rpm. The speedo also does not work now.

Changed the fluid and it was running extremely low. Not sure how I lost all of it but it was low. I filled it back up and hoped to god that it would work but no go. The quarts that I did drain before the change looked great. The car only has 1000 miles on it. I did not have any slippage loosness before the problem. So I never thought that I was low on fluid.

So the question I have is this
1) Did I fry the stall converter? It is a B&M hole shot.
2) Did I fry the trans completely
3) Am I a clown for not checking it at 500 miles - Yes.....

Any help guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe. Did the fluid smelled burned and was it dark red? It sounds like a tear down is in order. If the converter went it dumped metal all through the transmission.

If you did a fluid change and it's still slipping you might have cooked the frictions in it. Low fluid means lots of heat in a transmission. Heat kills 'em quick. I know. I've wasted 2 TH400 while drag racing.

While it's being repaired don't forget to flush the lines and cooler to get the old fluid and metal out them before you install the new transmission and converter.

That is what is weird. No metal when I drained it and the fluid looked like it was brand new.

It is the original trans that came with the 301 non turbo motor......
I had them take a look at it and through in a shift kit and I threw in the holeshot. It needs a little more kick in 2nd anyway so I will just take it out and let some experts look at it.

Thanks.
