So, guys, this is where I'm at with my project. I'd purchased Foose's 10" Nitrous II's for my '65 Karmann Ghia's rear and 8" for the front. The problem started when I got them with the wrong backspacing - the dealer had already mounted the tires for me, so I couldn't return them (especially since they were custom ordered 5x5's on the rear). The b/s should have been 7"; instead, they were 4.5", and the fronts were 5" of b/s! I really wanted 13's with 10" of b/s. Anyway, I emailed Foose with the question of whether 13"-wide wheels with 10" of b/s was feasible - to-date, no one's answered my query! Does anyone know if this is workable? Since the Toro drivetrain is frontwheel drive, finding this kind of offset has been a nightmare. I'm almost to the point of just selling the Nitrous II's and starting over with another brand....although I REALLY like these wheels, Chip Foose has left a bad impression with me over this.

What diameter of wheel are you looking at and what size tire are you running? We could make you a set of wheels that are 13" wide and get you a 10" backspace (wheel will be just about flat with no lip). It would require some custom work to get the 13" wide rim hoop, but we could do it. Let me know some more details and I can let you know what prices would be.

Without going into details (I've posted a little intro of my project on the 'welcome board'), essentially what I'd like to get are 17x13's with 10" of backspacing for the rear (5x5 bolt pattern), and 17x10's with 3" of backspacing for the front (5x4.75 bolt pattern). I'd really like to keep the Nitrous II's....I wonder if Stockton could cut & paste the center sections into wider rims!? Anyway, if 13's are iffy, I could go with 12's. I'm looking to put either 315's or 335's on the rear and 275's up front. The killer in this build is that I'd committed the most basic blunder of all....building the car before the wheels and tires were in place. I have about 3" of wheel travel in the rear before contact with the current setup and about 2-1/2" in the front. Whew! This suspension is going to be tight! I simply have to keep total tire height under 26" rear, 25" front.

If you decide you'd like to switch and run Intro wheels, let me know. We could do the rears with the backspacing you want. On the front you'd have to go to a bit more backspacing. You'd have to go with at least 4.5" backspace. We could do 12's or 13's on the rear, either way we'd be making a custom rim hoop. Keep in mind that the rim width is measured from bead seat to bead seat, not overall width, which makes a 13 measure just about 14" overall in width. If you become interested just let me know and I can PM you a price.
I'd suggest doing something to get a bit more of a balance in your backspacing than what you've mentioned above. You'll have wheels that are nearly flat on the back with no lip and then your front will have lots of lip. I'd suggest getting the offset more similar on the fronts and rears to get them more balanced.
Let me know if you need anything.
