I am ready to strip my hood, I really want just my plain jane standard hood (maybe it's a 6cyl hood?) and not a cowl hood. So, I was wondering if the gm zz502 will fit under a non-cowl hood. I am just wondering, I don't have the crate motor yet so I can't just mock it up.

Doubtful. A 502 with an Edelbrock manifold and a double pumper with air cleaner is tight with an SS hood

unless you have this SS hood
and this is when i just got the hood. Its fitted now!!
