Hi,

this car might have occured on this forum previously, but I didn't find it after a quick search.

This awesome guy at Polly Motorsport here in Norway build this 1986 Pontiac TransAm to ride, and ride fast...

(Sorry about no link in english though)

New speed record on the Mercedes Benz testcourse in Papenburg, Germany recently. 394,2 km/h (244.82 mph) in RAIN, simply amazing. Unfortunatley, the gearbox smoked when hitting fifth the next day when the track was dry.

-540cid, ProCharger, 1407bhp on pumpgas
-2025kg/4455lbs including driver, mapreader (passenger) and all fluids.
-Ford 9", 3,00:1, Moser axle, custom "handmade" 3-link
-Big brakes and rims

The goal is to win the Silver State Classic Challenge in september, will he take the grand prize across the pond?

btw. I'll be happy to translate any more details if you like

Amazing car. I read the page before I read through your translations. So I was a little worried I wouldn't know what was under the hood. However, all the items of interest are proper english words so they carry over in english. I saw 540 inch Donovan and that's all I needed to know. Good luck to your friend. I hope he does well with the SSC.

Wasn't Jeff Schwartz wondering who else was going to show up? Looks like there might be some competition this year...

Sick!

Sick with a 4L80e, Steve!

Yeah, it looks like he needs to keep both hands on the wheel. :drive1: The converter is wrong too. Do you hear it dropping back to idle every time he takes his foot off the gas? Yours will not do that. It will stay coupled at all but very low rpm.

So what are you w8ing for Steve? We're talking 'bout the winner of the Silver State if you give 'm that winning edge!

Might be the right time for some (impudent promotional) directions. Have a look here guys: www.twistmachine.com (http://www.twistmachine.com)

For the record; I'm just one of Steve's happy customers.

That car needs traction control first.

That car needs traction control first.

Considering the 9.19 sec 1/4 mile, it seems to have pretty good tracktion to me. At least since this is not a car set up for drag racing and straight line performance only. I don't know exactly what 1/4 mile times to expect from a comparable drag race car though? I would guess mid 8's?

That car needs traction control first.
Look at these numbers w/o traction control -
0-100km/t: 2,23sek, 0-200km/t: 5,55sek, 0-300km/t: 12,92sek.
0-201m: 5,91sek-205km/t, 0-402m: 9,19-249km/t.
60 ft: 1,45sek.
Traction control = too fast!
Badd ass car
