Mmmm, to be quite honest; that statement is slightly premature:ssst:. I have the tranny, controller, wiring, etc. and wanted to do it earlier but after looking carefully I noticed I would have to change my exhaust system since the X-pipe is in the way . . . Also ordered one the converters Steve developed about a week ago, so for now it's still the old TH400 since there are also a couple of other things going on in my life right now. Obviously the paddle shifter is already installed (combined with a quick release steering wheel hub).

But if you do a search here you'll find out that it is not very difficult. Most important things are the driveshaft (needs to be shortened for my car) and the trans crossmember. Steve (from twistmachine) bought me a couple of special connectors for the oilcooler lines coming from and going to the tranny since the normal ones could have interfered with the transmissiontunnel.

How did you guys come across your cars?

I found mine, freshly imported, in the South of the Netherlands (near Venlo, Limburg) while I was looking for a 68 Mustang Fastback (nobody ever heared of Eleanor back then!). The owner of the 'stang told me he also bought a 1st gen Camaro a couple of weeks ago but that he probably already had enough on his mind so he was willing to let it go. We went to see the car.

It was an original black plated car that was very solid. It had some damage to the left rear fender but it appeared to be a very good starting point (it didn't disappoint me) for making a PT-car. Although the term wasn't known at the time (1997), I wanted to make a car that would handle and brake well and not just go fast in a straight line.

It wasn't licensed in the Netherlands at the time so I did that myself. I drove around with it for a couple of years, modifying small things. After a couple of years (2000) I found it time to tear it apart. Unfortunately my marriage ended 'bout a year later and that put things on a hold for a while. Once I had some solid ground under my feet again, emotionally, financially and what more, I picked things up where I left them. Time didn't stop with regards to some of the mods I purchased/made but all in all, I'm very, very happy with the '67.

I also own a '78 (since 1985). That one is stored for about 8 years now but it's time is coming up. Stay tuned!
