this may be a silly question but with all the twin turbos being built, i was wondering has it been done before? can it be done? what would be the advantage or disadvantages.

It has been done, but would only be for show in my opinion. One single correctly sized centrifugal would out-perform duals, they eat up too much power.
A friend just finished up two ProChargers on a Chevelle.

Steven Kamis' former car (now owned by someone else, I think 3rd owner and the car will be auctioned off at barrett-jackson)

I'll have to ask him if he dynoed it, probably did. It was in a Pro Street Chevelle with a 502 Ram Jet crate motor.

Benefits of Twin Centrifugel Superchargers: Nothing I can think of other than wow.
Drawbacks of twin Centrifugal Superchargers: Weight, parasitic loss, even harder on the crank, more plumbing than one supercharger, expense.
