I am going buy a 4 post lift hopefully next week. I have searched the net but would like to know what experience good and bad you have had with the lifts you own or have first hand experience with. I read a lot about cheap lifts and how they are dangerous and all. I don’t want to buy a crappy one and there are a pile of lifts out there. I want good value ... good safe lift for a fair price. Thanks Steve

I have an Eagle (http://eagleequip.com/page/EE/CTGY/LI-SS)SS6000 (they now have the 7000 for less than what I paid). I use it mostly for storage, but havent had any issues with it at all. I picked it over the Backyard Buddy because I liked the fact that the slides were all enclosed inside the channels rather than sliding on the outside.

I got mine from Complete Hydraulic in Franklin, Indiana. I got the CL8000 CSP XLT http://www.completehydraulic.com/cl08000xl.html

I've been more than happy with it. I've used it to pull a couple transmissions, oil changes, fuel filter on a newer Ford truck, storage for things to get them off the floor, and even as a platform so I could weld new floors in a VW Beetle pan. It's worked without any problems. I've had my extended cab GMC 2500HD on it and it supports it just fine. Just make sure that your concrete is at least 6 inches thick so that you won't crack the floor.

I just order a 8000 XLT for them today. I did a lot of looking and reading and even though it's a import it looks to be built well and a great value. I will keep a close eye on the cable pulley/ bushing and bearing area thats were most lifts fail and cause the lift to drop because the cable comes off the pulley. These have steel pulleys and brass bushing.
