hey, that's the guy that ate my cat! LOL

If you are running Baer rears then i'd recommend C5's or C6 Z51's. check out KORE or http://www.engineeredvelocity.com/ for sets.

I am running a factory C5 front system with the "upgrade" red powder coat calipers. I'll be installing the C5 matching rears with the correct brackets from Kore 3 on my 12 bolt, along with the Hydrotech hydroboost. Check out some of the pics. You'll notice the new Carbon Fiber front spoiler from Tyler and the guys @ ATS!!

I have the Baer GT's on my ATS spindles. I had to use the flush valve stems with my 18" wheels, but they do fit. Here's some pics.

The second gen PBR (c5/6; BAER GT) stuff works really... really well.

Best part is... its affordable.

Links? PBR sounds familiar but I can't recall what company it is. Baer's site is horrible for finding brake kits. I'd like to spend less than a grand on a front brake setup so I can get these spindles on. They've been sitting here for at least 5 months now. :(

what you are reffering to is baer

PBR is the company that makes the C5/C6/Touring Classics Caliper. Maybe Baer too?

PBR is who makes that majority of OEM calipers... to include the calipers available from BAER and Touring Classics...

The original PBR caliper is what came on the 84 thru 96 Corvette's.

The OEM C5/6 caliper is the today's "GT" thru BAER.

I got my Baer's through Marcus at SC&C. I'd say the biggest difference is in the rotors really. The Baer rotors are really staunch pieces and, from what I've been told, are far more resistant to warping than the GM stuff and are warranted as such. Baer's also local for me here in Phoenix. They definitely weren't cheap, probably more than $1k, but I ordered them with the Stage 2 plus kit from SC&C so I'm not sure about the price breakdown. Call Marcus up, if nothing else you'll probably learn something new.

Jeg's has Baer Decelarotors for the 97-04 Corvette, part #136-55043-020 for $249.99 per pair.
18758

If you want to step it up a notch, Jeg's also has Baer Eradispeed 2 piece rotors , part #136-2301011 for $539.99 per pair.
18757

Depending on how tight the budget is, I would think rebuilt C5 calipers are available from the local auto parts store.

Herb has a good point about just buying the upgraded rotors, that would be a good way to round out your C5/C6 setup. When I was shopping I was looking at doing the C5/C6 stuff from Touring Classics/ebay/GM dealer and as I kept adding things up I drew close enough to the price of the Baer kit that I felt it was worth it to go with Baer. Personally, I like the looks and have always gotten good customer service from their techline. You really can't go wrong though, since it's essentially the same stuff and it all works really well.

Don't forget kore3 ; www.kore3.com (http://www.kore3.com)

Kore3 will have my business really soon; they're very knowledgeable about what they're selling, and very helpful. I haven't spent a nickel with them yet, but they still treat me and my questions like I drop $3,000 a week.

I'm currently working with Kore3 on my rear brakes (C5Z) and Tobin's been a great help. My application is slightly different that what he's used to and he's been very helpful working through the challenges. Like Sik68 says, he treats the customer right.

Are there any Kore3 kits that will work with the ATS spindle? I see they have a "tall spindle" kit, so would that work with the tall ATS spindle? I'm trying to keep the 16" wheels, but it looks like I may have to go to 17's. I know about the SSBC kit, but trying to do this on the cheap.

Any brake caliper/rotor designed for a C5/C6 Corvette will fit the ATS spindle. When you call them up just ask for a pair of loaded (calipers, pads, springs and pad cages) C5 calipers, hose kit and 2 C5 rotors.

What he said!!! The caliper carrier for the stock C5/C6 stuff bolts directly to the ATS AFX spindle. No need to spend big money on a kit. The tall spindle setup that Kore3 sells includes way more than you would need and is made to work with the "stock" tall spindle.

Well, the problem is i'm trying to keep my 16" wheels to save some money. Looks like I'll either have to get new wheels and tires or spend $1200 for some SSBC brakes. :(

I don't think there are any C5/6 brakes that will fit behind 16" wheels....

Kore3 can take care of ya. Call em and talk to Tobin, he'll have what you need all around. Good prices too.

Kore 3 has a kit to go on the 9" but it doesn't have a parking brake with it . I have been waiting, they are going to be working on that kit soon.
