Im building a Cal-tracks "like" tracktion bar and like Cal-tracks I want to use a solid front bushing. is the solid bushing going to hamper anything? Any other alternative? Where would I find a pivot joint that would work??

The aluminum bushing is the best way to go. It has zero deflection when compared to a poly or rubber bushing. You might be able to run a derlin bushing of some kind, but solid alumunim will offer the greatest strength and longevity when used as a leverage point for traction bars.
