Well as some know i sold the Nova over a month ago and i have been searching for a new project. Well i found her and she was delivered today. A 1971 camaro is now in the old home of the nova.
I have wanted one of these for a long time. When i got the nova i actually was looking for one of these cars but the nova was just to good to pass up.

Kinda looking for ideas right now. The whole car the needs to be redone so it is a blank canvas. My wife told me it was the ugliest car she ever seen :hammer: . There is no paint on the car so it looks strait and the rust is not to bad. Hopeing i will not even have to replace any of the factory sheet metal other than the pans and they are not that bad.

My ideas for a no name project
dse suspension uca's lca's rear leafs (i want to be low)
No minitub but i want to shoe horn some 285's with a 18 x 10 on the back
18's on front also
for brakes i might go with a ssbc this time or wilwood.
drivetrain around a 450+ horse carbed small block (thought about a ls but i love a carbed motor)
Trans will be tko 600
4 color i really want to stick with a oem color. So tuxedo and white stripes are my color of choice but might go cranberry and tuxedo stripes (my wife is pushinig me on the red) and i have owned nothing but black cars for the past 10 years and my elbo can use a brake.
I am going to run fairly stock type interior with the exp. of a covans dash and vintage air (another wife request)

thanks guys for checking this out i will post pics soon.

Sounds like a great project...I love the early 70's Camaros...does it have the solid or split bumper? Just to toss around color ideas, I have allways loved the orange with white or black stripes (to match interior) on those years. Love the direction you are taking, definately will be following your build...congrats on the new car!

that's going to be a fun project. You have a hard color choice because both of those sound awesome but I think i am partial to the cranberry. I would like to put a vintage air kit in my car too. been looking into it. good luck with your project

it does not have the rs front on it as of now but that might be changed. Thanks for the moral support because i look at this thing and i am like what the hell did i get myself into. This is the first time i took on a project of this size. So it should be interesting.

I hear ya about the overwhelming feelings that a new project can give, but in my opinion you have picked one of the perfect cars to start with, there is an endless supply of replacement and mod parts out there and that year of Camaro still has that muscular feel that the 60’s cars have, as well as the clean curved lines of the newer ones. They were common enough over the years to be easily and favorably recognized, yet few enough still on the road that with a little design imagination and a lot of eye to details they can be very unique. They have been on my “someday-somehow” list for a long time. Again…best of luck.

looks nice and straight and I don't see much for rust and/or patch work, are you planning a full strip and rebuild or are you going to repair/replace as you drive? I wish I could have done a full tear down on mine, but I could never seem to gather up enough money at one time to do that...and I was scared that If I tore it apart and hoped to come up with the funds someday that I never would have goten it togather again, but as I get older it seems more and more possible that I might do a nut and bolt resto someday...who knows, maybe next time. I just got mine freshened up this year and seeing yours striped down makes me want to start all over again...I know...scares me a little too...lol
