My 65 Goat is in the September issue of "Hemming's Muscle Machines" featured under "Modified Muscle". They did a pretty good job on the article and the pictures look great.

Check it out if you get a chance. The car came together in no small part from influences from pro-touring.com!

EDIT: Here's a link to the article on-line:

Here's a few pics of the car at a local informal car show this from this past Saturday AM. Look for the green Goat halfway down the page in images 342, 343, & 345. Enjoy!

Nice ride! I received the magazine the other day... great read!

By the way, ever fix/what was wrong with the steering?

Shiny Side Up!

I just got the steering taken care of. Chip at Power Steering Services troubleshot with me and came to the same conclusion as the writer...the spool valve in the box had issues. I pulled the box and sent it back to him. He said that the valve was bad and that there were metal fragments in the system as if the pump was run dry. Chip rebuilt the box. The pump was "fragged" as well and rebuilt as it was valved to the box. I installed everything this past weekend and fired her up...all is well in "steering land" now! It's much more fun hitting the corners now and taking full advantage of the suspension.

I was interested in the Tremecs but didn't really want to hack the tunnel. One of my Pontiac buddies e-mailed me last night that Richmond now makes a "super street" 5 Speed with 5th being a true OD. This is pretty much a bolt in deal and the TQ rating is 600 ft-lbs. Maybe there's a Richmond in my future now.... :)
