Self aligning??

Im not quite sure what people are talking about when they say that their rocker arms are not self aligning. Whats the difference between self aligning and non-self aligning rocker arms?? Any info is greatly appreciated. THX

Instead of pushrod guide plates, self-aligning rocker arms are aligned with the valve stem by two small "tabs" that extend beyond the tip of the roller to line up on either side of the top of the valve stem. You should not use pushrod guide plates with self-aligning rocker arms. SFAIK, factory Vortec heads use self-aligning rocker arms.
