Help, My Car Wont Stop

I just got the car on the road and my brakes suck. I have a vacuum booster with a stock master cylinder. Corvette calipers up from and SSBC calipers in the rear. It is like I have no vacuum assist at all, but the vacuum can checks out ok.

I have no Idea here.

you need a 15/16 or 1 inch master cylinder, or at least one for 4 wheel disk brakes

I am also worried I might not be creating enough vacuum. The engine produces about 11 inches

Yea, that's below the recommended levels. Mostly companies will use 14 inches as the lowest preffered level, with 12 as unacceptable. You might look into a vacuum reservoir, but I have never used one.

Other people like the hydro-boost instead of the vacuum booster, since it uses power steering pressure as a brake assist.

I went manual on my G-body.

Thanks guys. I want to go Hydro-boost, but cant afford it. Any other ideas?

You can get a long hose and connect it to another car. If it has assist your vacuum is too low. This will also tell you if it is just not working. Besides if it works you can get a really-really long hose and drive around.:hammer: J.K.!
