Hi all, appreciate your help. having trouble with the bleeder screws on this car. When unscrewed they didn't flow, so I took them out. They consist of 2 pieces; the bleeder screw plus this larger "sleeve" that goes into the caliper, and the screw goes inside of it. See the picture.. in the center is the exploded view.

the problem is, the outer sleeve won't go in far enough to seal, yet still be able to get the bleeder screw in (the hole in the caliper is quite deep). and (i think...) unless you get the sleeve to bottom out, it leaks around the threads, even if the bleeder screw is tight.

i've already mangled one trying to get this working.

On the right, in the picture, is a bleeder off a Wilwood caliper from another car. It has a tapered outer plug, then the bleeder screw goes inside of it. I was hoping it would work, but it's too small.

anybody dealt with this before? your thoughts are much appreciated

I wonder if the plug part is used to repair the bleeder area. If you can tell where the plug seals, around the threads, or on the bottom, you could make a longer plug. Were these on the car working already, or new calipers? If they are new I'd send them back.

it appears to seal around the base. these are the original calipers; the bleeders were working, but leaking. the car's owner says they have been problematic before. i've read posts on corvetteforum that make me think this is a common problem.

i'm going to pep boys today to see what i might rig up with some pipe fittings. a longer sleeve is a good idea.
