well, i'm new here. just be easy on me.

i have a 92 Mustang GT. i want to replace the rear control arms with something better. i'm on a real tight budget though. i was recommended UPR's kit with polyurethane bushings. i've heard bad stuff about bind with the poly though. i plan autocrossing and maybe a track day sometime. i also will continue to drive it everyday. i have looked and found some uppers that are adjustable with spherical bushings which i assume would be better with no bind. i'm also not in the market to go all the way with a watts link or panhard. i just want to update the stock four link.

my main question is exactly..............................

which control arms should i get?

do the lower control arms need to have the spherical bushings as well to match the uppers?

the cheapest uppers with spherical bushing i found was edelbrock. are there any others i should be looking at?

Thanks, Chris

Bottom line, solid or poly bushings in rear control arms WILL bind, the geometry is what it is.
Some arms with have poly bushings that are fluted to create a little give to combat this; but I don't consider it the best solution.
If you really want to go fast in a fox-body than this is where you look

Get these. You cant go wrong. I know they sometimes run packages for really cheap.

Although if you are serious about autoX/road race, go with Maximum Motorsports. They're in my opinion one of the nicest set-ups of all.

I'm building up a 1990 GT right now. I would say that you best bang for the buck out back it going to be a panhard bar. If you want to keep stock exhaust the Maximum Motorsports (www.maximummotorsports.com) piece is the ticket.

Next I would get a set of Racecraft Spindles (www.racecraft.com) for the SN95 chassis, along with the required brakes.

The next step after that would be some nice shockes.

By this point you will have yourself a reasonably nice handling car for not to much $$$.

well, thanks alot for all the info guys.

i did alittle more research on my own and i think i am going to go with a MM Panhard bar. i have heard bad about the poly stuff, so i'm going to stay away from all out complete poly. i still have stock controls arms for now. but i also have some tokico HP shocks and Eibach springs. i was just wanting to replace with better stuff and get rid on the rear steer. i think for now a panhard will work fine until i can save for some new lower MM arms and then some uppers later on too.

Thanks, Chris
