I am entertaining the idea of a black and red paint scheme with the red being on the flat surfaces of the hood, fenders, roof, and trunk lid and the black on the side panels of the 'cuda.
What color would be nice to do to break up the line? A silver pinstripe?
The scheme I am going for is the original Sickfish 'Cuda Chip Foose rendering only in black and red.

I'd say silver or maybe a gunmetal grey with some metalic in it. It's alway good to shoot a test panel and play around.

I am looking at this scheme. This guy had supposedly followed the Foose design. I do want to make some alterations. I do not want to copy or steal the scheme because to my minds eye it still doesn't look exactly right.
The silver portions are to be black or very dark gray. The rear spoiler would be incorporated by the dark sidepanels, so where you see the green at the rear of the 1/4, that will be the darker hue. The tail panel would be the original flat black.
The green portions would all be Ferrari (or similar) red, except in the rear 1/4 area.
If you noticed the hood is flat black and is the AAR 'cuda hood. I would do that in red as well. I already have the AAR hood.
So for the break up line would you use pin stripe tape and clear over it?
BTW, mine is a 70 so no gills and I would be using my black 17x8/9.5's. I also have the elastomeric bumper(option that rplaced a chrome bumper, they were body color).
If anyone could shop that it would be super awesome.

that should look sweet... I'd try a silver stripe, but don't use pin stripe tape- get a pinstriper to come and do it-- real pinstripe is an art to itself. If you are going wider than that, then you could masking tape and spray it, then clear over it. just pull the tape right after shooting the paint so the edge can lie down. (or paint the silver first, mask the pin stripe area, then paint the red and black.)

You don't think I'm "borrowing " too much from the Foose do you. I would hate for someone to say,"Hey, that is a Foose scheme that's Red and Black."
Really the only thing I like that is real specific about the original scheme is the portion where the top color comes down into the bottom color and extends to near the door handle. I'm not really trying to change it "just enough" to make it mine, I just like the two tone and in particular, his execution of styling near the door handle.

i don't know anything about this car i just saw it on the net one day, i can't tell but it doesn't look like he has anything but body lines braking up the two colors.

IDK about the no line. I think I would want to put one in. I have the Rides episode of Sickfish on DVD. I'm going to look at the Foose rendering and see if he used one.
