These were just discussed in this forum - LED Lights - I think that there is a link in there - to where they are being sold.

Sorry for the minor derail, but does anyone know of a source for those dummy bulb-ends that the auction has? (the things that attach to the bulb sockets and have the wires going to the LEDs)?

Purpose? Making my own LED tails for my El Camino... doubt there's enough demand for anyone to spool those up soon, and even if they did, I doubt they'd price them cheap enough for me to jump (not made of money).

if he can't get them, can't you make your own by braking the glass on a 1157 and connect wires as needed and use heat shrink and RTV? you know thats all someone did before they made those and then sold the idea for lots of money.....ahh the american dream, get rich quick.

Lol love that idea but if you just remove the glass there are 3 contact points inside the bulb end that you can just solder the connecting wires to. That might look cleaner :poke:

I will try and find some for you though.

Agreed, but I like the thought of being able to put regular bulbs back in (couldn't tell you why though). Thanks for looking for me, Mike.

Derek,
I am currently working on a '70 SS Elky and have been contemplating machining some "bulb adapters" to make my own LED tail lights. If they work out, I'll let you know and possibly make a couple for you.

Where can I find a pair of these for my '68 RS/SS? Can you reuse your existing lenses with these or do you need to buy new ones that fit?

Can you reuse your existing lenses with these or do you need to buy new ones that fit?The DOT ones can be purchased from me either by phone or our online store http://musclerodzstore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=96 The sequentials are on backorder for 4 weeks due to a redesign and will be available again mid October. I have 3 sets on backorder of those right now.
Mike
I want the DOT ones. I guess when they become available the word will get out. I think a lot of us with 69 will be interested. I need 69 standard.
