I am Lenny Schaeffer and I own and operate a hot rod building shop in Woburn MA. Currently I have worked on 2 Camaros in the shop- both of which have been chosen to be real head turners by their owners.

Rick's car:

Ive been building cars since the 80's and it was only in the last 3 years that people kept asking me enough that I decided to throw away my dealership management job and make hot rods my living!

I have owned everything from Ford to Chevy and my current love is my 56 Chevy Belair that I built from scratch and have had since 1981.

I could go on and on but I dont want my post to sound like a job interview resume- I want people to know I am here to meet new folks and to offer any advice and help I can to keep this hobby going- and maybe meet a few new friends at the same time. :drive2:

Nice '56! We built one for my dad a few years back. He drives it as much as possible, just a damned fun car! It's funny, I love the '55 and the '56, '57 is OK but not my favorite.

He calls it his "old man car" because we built it with an automatic. It's loaded with every luxury Chevy never offered, but only an LT-4 'Vette engine, not that sweet lookin' big block your running!

What sort of suspension "stuff" did you do to yours?

Here is a pic of his '56:

Honestly not much has been done to this car. Tubular A Arms, dropped spindles, lowered in front and rear , Ford 9 inch - not anything radical thats for sure. I built the car in 2000 and its been that way since. Kinda safe and out of date now - hoping to re do some stuff in 2008.

Basically right now its a safe 'every day' BB Chevy with a bright paint job! Thanks for asking.
