We're heading out to the Somernites Power Cruise on Friday morning, and we're planning to stop in Indianapolis for lunch. We're leaving St. Louis around 6:30 am (if all goes well) and should be in Indy around 11-11:30 am (if all goes well). We're driving our red '62 Galaxie, so there's a 99% chance something will happen along the way.
Anyone have any good suggestions for a decent place to eat that's not too far off 70? Or bring your car if you're local - we're shooting the road trip to the event, and it might be a cool way to meet up and shoot some cars.
Thanks!

There is an hour difference between Indy & St Louis. We are an hour ahead of you. Also I-70 through Indy is a mess, I am not sure about west of downtown, but east of downtown there are NO exits open until you get past I-465. There are a lot of nice restaurants downtown near Circle Center Mall, it is not too far from I-70, (if you can get off the interstate). I will see if any of my friends have been in Indy & know for sure & let you know.

Ah yes, the time change. Now we gotta get up even earlier. Thanks for the heads up on the exit situation... this is the info we need!
Thanks!

It took me about 4 hours to get there a few weeks ago, so if you left at 6:30 (7:30 here) you could get to Indy at about 11:30 here time.

I found out that I-70 West of Downtown is fine & you can get off to go to the restaurants downtown without problem. A portion of I-70 & I-65 is essentially the same road for about a mile through downtown, east of that on I-70 until you get past I-465 is where they are working on 70 & there are NO exits open. Still there is 4 lanes open each way, so not a problem driving on it.

Thanks,
Maybe we'll just do that. There's a Hooters right downtown I think. I don't think we have the time for the St. Elmo shrimp cocktail... mmm.

You are correct, Hooters is downtown, Hard Rock, Steak -n- Shake, Alcatraz Brewing co., Buffalo Wild Wings, Champions sports bar, Champs, & on & on & on.
