Well my car is almost ready for mock-up of the engine before its painted. I have been searching for an Accel Superram but cannot find one so I am going to have to go with something different.
I wanted the superam because its different and looks really wild in the engine bay. Something different which is what I like. It would really look great with the D-1SC Procharger also going in.
Anybody have any ideas of what I can use. I'm really not interested in the Holley Stealth-Ram setup, I like it but I just see them too much.
Thanks,
-Doug

Doug,
I have a Accel Superram on my 68. They are pretty easy to purchase - let me know if can assist.

I called lingenfelter a few weeks ago. They are currently out of stock on them with no ETA on when they will get them in. :(

Well I got the intake and its perfect. Went to the powder coater today to drop off some of the parts. Whats also great is I talked to AFR and they can port match the heads to the intake. The intake was matched to the felpro 1206 gasket and afr for $150 will use the intake and verify that they match with no material blocking the flow of the ports. Gotta box up the intake and ship it out to them.

Did a search but could not find a post on figuring what size fuel line to use. I'm expecting to be in the 600-650hp range with the Procharger. My pump is in the tank, and I'm going to run a fuel filter coming off the pump, but then what size line should I run to the fuel rails. Is #6 enough, I think would be and that #8 would be to much. Do you agree?
I have been reading posts about putting the regulator in the rear and only running 1 line, but I'm going to stick with fuel rail mounted regulator thats there and then run two lines. Or should I somehow bypass the fuel rail regulator and only run 1 line?
Thanks
Doug

The guidance I've seen says to run 1/2" (-8) if you're expecting more than 500-550 HP. I am dealing with a hot tank issue at the moment and regret my return style fuel rail mounted regulator. I would seriously consider a system that avoids returning the fuel from the engine.

Is it possible to remove the fuel rail regulator and return?

Most aftermarket pumps need a return, but you can design your system to have the regulator and very short return back by the tank. A single line then runs up to the engine. This is similar to the setup for the newer Corvettes. I don't know how you could run a setup without a regulator though. And it would be a giant pain to have it under the car back by the tank...

Sorry I mean remove the regulator from the Fuel Rail. I'd put it instead out back near the tank.

If anyone is running a SuperRam on their 1st gen camaro can you shoot a picture of where you have the two harness wires drilled at your firewall. I want to get the harness in before I drop in the motor and need to know where the harness needs to be. Thanks

Don't have a pic at the moment - one thourgh the heater panel on the passenger side - and the other one through the factory hole for a manual clutch - as I am running a 4L60E - factory hole was open to us. Also depends on where you are mouting the computer - mine is above the A/C kit - the area by the glove box - if a glove box was there.

I took the harness apart and mounted the ECM where the battery was.
I hate the stock layout of the Accel harness.

SuperRam can you take a shot for me when you get a chance. You can email it to me if that is easier.

EFI great idea on the battery spot, I am putting my water injection there next to my cocktail shakers. So I'll think about that some more.
Thanks guys

From my experience: 1) If it hasn't already been done, do yourself a favor and modify it so you can bolt the plenum to the runners from inside the plenum. It makes life much easier. You will need to run stat-o-seals or something similiar. 2) 1206's are hard to fit with most of the TPI manifolds. Be careful when you seal then up to the heads for the last time - it's easy to get leaks with 1206's. Right Stuff or good RTV are a help.
Good luck

Looks good. I was thinking about trying to find one for an LT1. If I can find it for less than the price of a new car.
