Does someone sell a kit to install door locks in the camaro or do I have to just use actuators and piece something together myself?

I know they didn't offer factory locks till 75 on the camaro but they are close enough, does anyone know if that system works on the 70's?

Thanks

I would think that the factory locks from a later car should work fine, might take a little fab work, but nothing serious.

The factory locks from a later model can be adapted if you want a seperate switch. I used a kit from electric-life I think it was on my '73. They are offered through classic industries and others. I googled the name and bought from a distributor in Cali., don't remember the name. They were easy to hook up and are called a central locking system, if you pull or push one knob or door key it accuates the other. For added convenience they also sold keyless entry units designed to interface with this and I installed one. This gives me power locks with a key fob to accuate, and it's really nice. All in all it was under $200.

P.S. I checked they came from www.a1electric.com and the lock kit is an MES along with one of their keyless units.

I have bought the $40 kits on fleabay and added them to 3 cars with very good results. The first door takes 2 hours, the second door about 35 minutes. (69 gto, 68 gto, 55 bel air)

I ran mine without the button, and rely on the car alarm only for power up/down action; I didn't see a button I liked for my interior.

You can buy w/wout the button, but you will want the actuator and relay set up.

if you know how to wire the actuators you can get them for about 10.00 each. You would then interface them with a set of buttons or a keyless entry or alarm system

Suggestion, put an alarm on the car anyway. Remember nine cars got stolen from Year one cup this year.
