Ranting a little:
So I was out in the car this weekend testing the new brakes (Wilwood 7/8" master and BP-20 pads). Man do they work well. Especially after dialing in the F/R bias. Unfortunately, nothing could be done about the carnage to my front spoiler on a freeway connector. The car in front of me never flinched while kicking up the tire tread from a big rig. Bye bye spoiler, hello dented fuel tank. The worst part is I had just put on the 5th spoiler (in 10 years) after ~3 years without one. Second outing on the freeway with it. I then spent ~ 1 hour giong 1.5 miles to get off the freeway (closure). Good thing is that in near 100 degree midday temps, the water temp in the heads never went over 205. Chalk one up to DC controls for their integrated fan/controller setup. Too bad for me though with no A/C!!
OK, rant over.

No A/C? Man... my car has no A/C (coolant leak) and I have 120 degree heat to deal with everyday! :)

AC, whats that?
NOT A TA

AC = All those heavy parts I removed from my Firebird and sold on EBAY before I decided to move from New England to FL! LOL Guess it'll be more a winter car than a summer car!

What? You must have been on the 101N @ Woodman around 12:30pm Sunday. I was stuck there for close to an hour as well.

So you had a good weekend too. Took my car out saturday night with my girlfriend, we were going to my friends graduation party. I was on it a little, smacked the shifter into 3rd and it felt like neutral wtf! I had no gears, my girlfriend says to me what happened I say tranny's blown. Waited two hours for a tow and I was only 7 miles from home. Pulled tranny out on Sunday in my lovely dirt driveway. I broke the input shaft, a piece is still stuck it the converter. Just ordered a new converter and I have a guy going through the th350 now. I should have it together by Saturday only cost about $900 for everything. Hopefully humidity is low this weekend. Glad to here bout the brakes I'm running the same master.

Don't you love Socal traffic?!
Damn True

I pass through once a month on my way to Santa Ana/Tustin. Every time I wonder how you guys do it?
I have to say though, there is a much greater quantity of traffic in greater LA/OC, but So-Cal drivers are better at dealing with it than Nor-Cal drivers.

I swing through that way. I usually take I-5, 210, 57, 5 then 55. Skips downtown LA. It's more than 20 miles longer, but usually 1.5hrs quicker.

Yeah, the 5 through downtown sucks at all times of the day.
I take the 210 all the way to downtown Pasadena 5 days a week.

I travel the same route as True several times a year and agree that So. Cal. traffic is the pits. You do have much better freeways, though. Up here in the SF Bay Area, it's awful.
I remember when the 210 was the best kept secret passage around LA.
Bummer about the spoiler and fuel tank . . . good excuse to get that stainless Rick's tank you've always been lusting after.
Cheers,

You live in Fontana? I'm out there pretty regular @ TAMCO Steel and CSI.
You're going the wrong direction. I make it to Fontana in 50 minutes in the mornings.

Plus I got more room in and around the house. Sucks though going from a 4.2 mile no freeway 12 minute commute to a 39.5 mile 1hr 20 minute commute!
Hopefully the new job in Chino pans out well.

jpYeah, they take take a few more stops to build up heat to work well than the BP-10, and after the bedding in process left a nice layer of dust on my rims, but once set in made an incredible difference in overall feel and performance of the pads.
