My dad's Nova is desperately needing a big block in it. It's a 63 Nova with stock shock towers & the mini-subframe, subframe connectors, etc. My question is: can a 454 big block chevy fit? If so, what headers will work? Dad wants to put his 454 in it but doesn't want to spend the coin on the complete new front end & suspension (minimum $2000) just to put the motor in. Anyone on here done this swap or have info/pics?

Thanks, Clint

Put a healthy small block in it.

The swap stuff exists; but it ain't pretty.
A serious small block in that chassis will get you into the 9's (http://www.small-block-chevy.com/nova.htm) but you HAVE to build the chassis.
The early Nova's have a seriously weak chassis. At the very least you need to dig into the front end and get rid of the alignment cams.
Check out http://globalwest.net/62%2067_nova.htm for a good list of budget stuff that will actually work.

What kind of budget do ya'll want to work with?
