This just about sums it up!

Meet Perry Green. I met him while in line to drive the C6 Corvette at the El Toro. After getting some advice from him I found out he was something like #2 for the day on his first run in the Cobalt SS competition. He gave me some tips and even offered to let me take the convertible vette instead of the one I was told to drive. Apparently it has more interior room for us taller people. I went ahead and drove the one I had because I knew no matter what I drove I would not do that well. Only having 2 autocross laps under my belt in a rental car I didn't have hopes of setting any records. What I did do is challenge it's traction control and it's anti-lock braking. That thing can stop!

After we went for a spin in the C6 I followed Perry over to the Cobalt SS competition to watch him run his second lap. If it had not been for clipping a cone he would have had a 30.905 time that just kills my 32 low something time. If only I could have run a few more laps I might have been able to break into the 31's that still isn't that fast. Craig Boone ran a 30.8 something on Friday. It's a fun little car and it makes me want to go drive the supercharged version. One of the coolest ideas is they have a professional driver run the course several times each day and give him a 1000 point score. Your time is then converted into a score and it's equalized though out the day and at all events during the tour. This way it takes into account the weather and track conditions. So the numbers I have listed may not relate to you if you were at a different event. I think Perry's first score was 531 and I was is the mid 400's I think. You can views the times on http://www.revitup.com/ by looking under results.

I had a great time and even had a blast in a Trail Blazer SS. That thing with it's LS2 moved really well. It makes me want to ditch my Dakota R/T.

They even had a reaction course that I never made it to. It looked like a 0-60-0 type deal with an accelleration after you came to a stop. All designed to test your reaction skills.

The enduro carts looked like a blast but for the same reason I won't ride a horse I didn't try driving one. The last thing I wanted to do was break it's back. LOL!

Being able to get up close an personal to the new Camaro was also cool. It's the first time I have been able to get close to it without 500 people around it. I can't tell you how bad I want one of these. GM, are you listening. lol!

It was a great day and if there is any way you can make it you have to go. Grab a friend or three and go have a blast. Thanks again to Dan Passe for his support and the discount for the members of Pro-Touring.com and thanks to David Pozzi for his driving advice and the reason Rev It Up came to Pro-Touring.com
