Does anyone know where I can get the Autometer Gauge Pods and Dash Pods for a 67 Camaro?

I want to mount 5" Autometer Spedo and Tach where the stock gauges are currently located. Do they make a new dash pod that fits the Autometer Gauges?

I am also looking for a 4 Gauge Pod that mounts on the console - I have a 4spd. I want to stuff Autometer gauges in that as well.

Pretty sure I've seen the console part at Summit and Classic Industries. As for the in-dash part, I didn't know Autometer even made that.

The console gauge pod from Autometer is for 68-69 only. I had these on my '68 but the '67 console is different.

As for the gauges in the dash, you can modify your stock carrier to hold a 5" speedo and tach. Or, you may be able to buy a covan's dash insert (www.covansclassics.com (http://www.covansclassics.com)) without any holes cut and make your own holes for the 5" gauges. I think you will get a nicer looking final product if you use a factory cluster and modify it. I'' try to find a good pic of mine.

I did the same as streetk14, dropped the guages in from the front and used the u channel mounting bracket thing that came with the guages.

streetk14, can you tell me more about your car? Seats, trans and such? Thanks.

Oh, and you might want the smaller guages, 2 1/16", for easy of mounting.

I used the blank Covan dash for my 67 'Bird. Made a template based on my gauges. Check out this post.

Bigboi, I am changing out my gauge set up (to a Covans). I have the autometer console piece that I don't need anymore. Let me know if you might be interested in one that will just need repainted for a good price. I also have a 67/8 carrier with 5 in unltralite speedo and tach (elect speedo) that will also be for sale.

That car has an LSX motor with a T56 6 speed. The seats are Recaro "style" toplines, and the steering wheel is a Momo "Fighter". The shifter is a B&M ripper and the shift boot is from Lokar, I believe.

I have more pics of the car if you are interested.

It's an Autometer pillar pod that's for Mustangs. It fits really well, and would look great if the finish matched my A-pillar. The pod has a grain finish on it (like a 68 or 69) and my '67 has a smooth finish. It was supposed to be temporary fix so I had somewhere to mount my shift light and boost gauge. I plan to have one custom made for a cleaner look.

I'm not sure what years it is supposed to fit, but it is part# ATM-10100.

I just stuck it to my A-pillar with heavy duty double sided tape, and drilled a hole behind it to run my wires through. To answer your question, I did not modify it in any way and it fits fine. You could make it fit very nice if you wanted to mold it using a heat gun. I didn't bother since the finish doesn't match my '67 and I plan to change it anyways.

Here's mine, I used stock housing and then added the 5" autometer's then made my own center section to house 5 more gauges... I am looking for the pillar mount like you have Andy, so I might have to take that idea from you, it looks good...

I know what you are saying about the smooth finish on the 67. My 68 has a grain finish, but my 67 I just bought has a smooth finish.

Have you found a pod pillar that has the smooth finish? btw: the pod pillar looks awesome. I can't believe (cough cough) a mustang part bolted right up to a first gen... LOL! :)

Thanks for the comments on the pillar gauges!

To be honest with you, I haven't even looked for a better matching gauge pod yet. I'm sure there is one out there somewhere that would fit well and match my interior better, but it's not at the top of my list right now. I don't know, maybe you could sand the finish smooth and then paint the gauge pod?

Has anyone tried mounting gauges above the temp controls on a non-air car? In the area that I think would have a vent if the car had air.

Thinking about trying this and using Autometers' angled gauge rings to "aim" tham towards the driver.
