Anyone here going to the cruise in at Somerset Kentucky July 28th? I just got my rooms last night. We have 4 - 5 hot rods coming including mine. I'm sure it will be super hot outside, but it's worth it to see 1000+ cars for FREE! If you are thinking about going, call & get a room now. I spent an hour trying to find a hotel with 2 rooms. They are going quick as this is Somerset's biggest event of the year. Check their website out for more info: www.somernitescruise.com (http://www.somernitescruise.com)

If anyone here is going, look me up. Here's what we will be in at the show. I'll be in my truck, dad is taking his Nova, & his buddy is going in his 69 drop top Camaro:

I never heard of this one, it sounds like a good time. I'm about 200 miles away. If my wife can get the 27th off, maybe we'll come down. What hotel are you guys staying at?

We'll be there shooting the cruise and event for V8TV. We're doing the Cincinnatti leg down to Somerset. See you there!

We are staying at the Budget Inn. It was $55.00 a night I think.

Were going, but we are leaving Cincy friday night, towing a 91 S-10, still isnt done yet.

I know that there are a tone of cars from Cincy going, i was told 400 plus just from Cincy as of last week.

Here is a pic of the truck.

Were going to talk to Holley down there, cause we have a Holley Pro ECM set up and we need a little tuning help.

That sounds great that there are that many cars coming. I should be there early Saturday morning. I'll probably be napping by 1 or 2pm so don't wake me up unless it's an emergency! I will be on the main drag that night until i run out of gas. See you there.

Cooooool!!!!!!!!!!! I live in Somerset and I can't believe my town is being talked about on PT.com!!!!

The Somernites Cruise is definitely a cool thing. Check out the website somernitescruise.com

I will be in my red (pro-touring esque) 67 GTO. I think it would be awesome to have a little pro touring cruise that evening. The after show cruise is definitely the coolest part. There will be a couple thousand cars out running up and down the 5 mile 6 lane strip. People totally inundate both sides of the road to wath the cars cruise. The cruise usually lasts till after midnight if the weather is good. There are several pretty good restaurants that cater to the cruisers pretty good. They will make part of the parking lots only available to cruisers. This is supposed to be the biggest show ever because of the power cruise. It is only a cruise in, so no trophies or anything, but there is a ton of food venders and some parts venders. We do this thing on the 4th Saturday of every month, April thru October. It would be totally cool have them set an area aside for Pro-touring,com members. I could probably rig that up if I could get a good count of those who are coming.

I had mine out today to enjoy myself. Well I ended up replacing an alternator belt on the side of the road (always, always carry a spare!) & noticed tranny fluid everywhere under the truck. So I got the tranny lines fixed & leak free, oil changed, fresh alternator belt and a spare. I'm ready other than a quick wash & gas up!

See you guys there!

Well just got home and truck unloaded.

To start off, the rain friday night and saturday morning sucked, didnt get much time on the water.
Truck ran great up here in ohio but down there it wouldnt run under 1000RPM, never got it to idle right, Got home and runs great.

But the show was a blast, we rolled in about 3:30-4PM and parked right in the square. parked across from the holley booth.

I saw V8TV walking around, and also looked at zz3guys truck super clean.

We tryed to cruise saturday night but started to over heat. Getting a new fan this weekend at the NSRA Nats.

Thanks for the compliment. I hate to say it but I missed your ride. The pics of it look great though. I was too busy just watching the cars roll in & didn't get to walk around much. I got there at 9 & sat there for 5 hours to get that "preemo" parking spot. I feel for you overheating. I let mine get up to 225 before realizing I didn't have the fans on too. I got mine back down to a reasonable temp by hitting a backroad for a few miles & hit the strip again. It was awesome. I may just have to go back down next month!
