Just finished up a new frame for first gen. Camaro (second gen. and Chevy II coming soon). The new frame is using Art Morrison suspension, AGR rack, QA-1 coilovers, and Willwood 4 piston brakes.

If you have any questions give me a call or I'll try to log back in in a day or so and answer some questions.

Almost forgot, complete frame as pictured will run $4000 plus shipping.

Thanks,
Wayne

What is this front C4 or C5 or better? What else would I need to get this all ready to go? I have all ready gone to Baer disks at all 4 corners does that create a problem? As it is now I have Global West upper & lower control arms and QA-1 coilovers. I'm also using Global West sub frame connectors will these still work? The car is equipped with a Hydroboost if this makes any difference. I guess my question is should I sell this sub as is or should I keep it for parts as I have been looking at getting one of your subs for a long time and now is the time. Last this is a 1969 Camaro convertable I'm refering about. Thanks for your time.

Your a-arms probably won't work on that frame. The frame in the pic has differant componets for mustang/ art morrison. What are your GW a-arms designed for? What kind of car?

What suspension/brake options do I have with this new frame??? I might want to buy bare and go with GW, or other A-arms, is this possible, also I would rather go with Baer, again is this going to be an issue???

Thanks Wayne
BTW another masterpiece.....Looks Awsome

Me likey!

Just curious how this setup will differ with regard to handling... is this a step up from the previous product or just a different option?

Thanks for taking the time to post! We all really appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Let me clear this up a bit, I dont want to reuse my control arms I would like to reuse my Baer brakes and QA1's if possible. What brakets would I need for the brakes? Are the QA1's the same? What I would like to know is how does this subframe compare to the C4/5 front sub from Wayne? Will a Wayne Due subframe work with my GW subframe connectors? The upper and lowers are for my 69 subframe. If there are to many differences for the QA1's to work I would pull the Baers off and sell the subframe as is. The reason I want the Baers to stay so they match the rear setup. As my wife and daughter tell my I have to cordinate.
Thanks,
Mike

David, your custimer ordered a frame, Thanks for sending him my way! and good luck with your shop!! The frame uses all A/M IFS. For that price it has the AGR rack, QA-1 Proma stars, Willwood 4 piston brakes. The A/M front uses M II spindles so anybody that makes a brake kit for those spindles will work. In the picture the car has stock spindels so 2'' drop would make for a vary nice low car. This frame is only an option, it does not replac the Vette frame.
And yes I'm working on the C-5 frame and think you all will like the looks of it. I also want to throw this out there. Do you think peeps would like a frame that uses all stock first gen points? but would have a front steer rack, narrow rails, and coil-overs. that way you can put the DSE arms on or? I think I could build this frame pretty easy. What do you all think.

Thanks and Happy New year!!

Wayne,

I like the price of the frame with the art morrison suspension. I may try one but the upper and lower arm do not look very heavy duty to me. I want to put a LS1 in my car and it should have about 450 horse so I want to make sure that subframe is up to the task of a high ten second car.

Thanks

Wayne,
I think a sub-frame like this could prove to be popular. There are a lot of options out there when it comes to suspension components. A SF that is lighter, stronger, with room for more wheel/tire, and R&P steering would certainly be a step up from the original SF.
I have two suggestions to make, although I don't know how practical they would be when it comes to production. My first suggestion is to move the stock mounting points slightly to improve geometry (the Guldstrand mod comes to mind). The second (as an option) is to move the suspension points to take full advantage of the taller F/B body spindles while still using control arms from the early F/X bodies.

Hi wayne, I like it, most of the people im dealing with are waiting patiently for your updated C5 frame. How about this... a frame that uses stock f body configured a arms (which would include tubular DSE,GW,Hotchkis and speedtech) with all necassary improvments in geometry, provisions for coil overs and a ford AGR rack. Now that would be big here. The advantage over stock? 100lbs less weight and room for wheels up to 315's, I see alot.

if you check out a stock car products catalog you'll see,all 2nd gen, modified stock or fabricated subs, coil over or conventional, with rack mounts or stock.and also modified stock lca in coil or coil over, spindles hub, ect.i think the same could be done with a first gen.a stronger lighter replacement, with a few mods like weight jackers or coilover option, upper a arm mounts with a few mounting location,i.e. guldstrand, stock.and something that will work best with the tall spindle.but able to run all or most stock components.that could be a real winner.if you already have a lot of mods you wouldn't have to chuck it all.the stock car products clip is $625.priced like that i'd get one myself.

Wayne,
After having more time to think about it, I thought I'd add to my earlier posting.
If building a sub frame from scratch, use mounting points for the front suspension that would allow for different upper and lower control arms. With all the different models that GM has built over the years, it must be possible to find a longer lower arm and a shorter upper arm that has been used. This combined with the taller F/B body spindle may open up some possibilities. If we could use factory arms, we could always upgrade at a later date.

Have you ever considered having your frame rails Hydro-Formed? I know this would be an expensive undertaking, and would certainly be dependent on how many frames you sell, but may provide some payoffs in strenght and production. The process is becoming quite common among the car manufactures, which may make it easier for smaller companies to adopt the technology.
I don't know how practical some of my ideas are, but hey, they're free.

Wayne the stock replacement frame sounds like a winner to me. I have been working on customizing my stock frame to be able to handle wider tires. And have been wanting to upgrade to rack and pinion steering.

Is this a complete set up for $4,000 what else will I need to do or get to run this set up in my 68?? It seems to be a pretty good deal considering I saw 21st century wanted like $7000 for their complete set up...unless as usual I am missing something... :hammer:

Hey Wayne,

Saw the frame that you did for the chevelle on your website, what would a frame like that cost without the Corvette parts?

Thanks

Just curious... What's the total weight of the bare sub frame (without suspension..)?
