My photo editor is out, so excuse the t'urd grade job... Here's my take on a 17/18" GM wheel, using GM parts, and a little creativity.
I call it the Rally IV...
Whatcha think?

Hey thanks!
Now I just have to find some paint that will bite (and be the right color) and make some stencils/masks.
Anyone ever applied paint over a coated (powder??) GM wheel?

I like it also. Watch someone from GM now reproduce it. :bananna2:

I know of Rallye I and Rallye II wheels so what's a Rallye III if this is a Rallye IV?

Concept looks interesting...

Pontiac put out a Rally III on the late 70's/early 80's cars (think 82 Firebird or Grand Am/LeMans). It was an inversion of the paint scheme of a Rally II.
Besides... ALL Pontiac guys have this thing for IV and V nomeclature. Know what I mean? ;)

As a former corvette C5 owner, I know these wheels quite well. There's a guy who makes the little inserts that give you the exact pattern you're looking for...

Almost got these for my car, but then sold it.

Thanks for the info! Got any friends that might have one extra available?

I haven't seen them in person and don't know anybody personally that got them, I just saw them on the corvette forum and thought it might be a nice little mod for $35 instead of buying new wheels.

Thanks all!
Well, I found some paint that looks like it might be the right color AND hold up... Now I gotta figure out how to make stencils that can be duplicated.
Maybe I'll just make one and trace each spoke out. Then outline it w/ fine line tape and then go over all that with some heavy duty masking tape.
Whatcha think?

I would just go to a sign shop and have them cut a bunch out for ya, either stencils or decals in the color you want. Decals you could remove easier if you don't like it. Fine line tape would work, but it'll be tough getting them all exact.

I agree go to a vinyl graphics shop and have several stencils made and ask for them in heavy vinyl and then I would bead blast it to aluminum and then repaint them with a good paint in the insets.
I would then have some clear vinyl coverups made to go over them to make them water proof.
Or pin stripe the paint line.
Just a thought.
