This the BADDEST son-of-a-bieotch on this thread!!!!!! I've always like the "Big" Mustangs the best & everyone thinks I'm crazy but, dude you just made me 100% sure on my lonely stand that the 71-73 Mustangs are the best looking Stangs ever made. I've been looking to buy a muscle car & after seeing this awesome car I think I'm going to be leaning towards getting a 71-73 Fastback Mustang.

Those years (71-73) are hard to find good deals on. In good shape they want a tone of money & if they are affordable then it's a basket case.....

Good to see some Mustangs... here is my 1988 LX, 5.8L EFI Crane Interceptor II managed Vortech supercharged Coupe... 13/11.65" discs and Flofit seats, Momo steering wheel, Eibach road springs and Tokico shocks... and 18x8/18x9 Moda R6 Wheels on a Deep Shadow Metallic Blue finish.. reminds me I have to get this car out of the garage and drive it! My most recent addition was DynoMax UltroFlo polished mufflers...does it qualify for Pro/Touring?

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

How do you get them as low as that? I can't get this 69 any lower (it's a work in progress, rear still needs to be lowered, all these aftermarket suspension goodies make it look like a truck :( )
Anyway, any lower than this and the tire hits the lower front quarter panel (actually the ss trim) and i can't see any way of getting around this apart from removing the trim and rolling the fender lip.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/12/6yf6rdd-1.jpg

When I have it like in the next pic it'll rub. Kind of sucks because i liked it with the front this low.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/12/6t08ysw-1.jpg

What aspect ratio (size) tires are you running??? From the pics it looks like the ones we're running are too tall

Young Gun

Here are my Mustangs!

The 1992 SSP Mustang CHP car is the actual EVOC training car from the California Highway Patrol training academy. The pictures are of the car when it was at the academy. I am finishing the restoration on the car as we speak. It will be completed early 08 exactly as you see the car in the pictures at the academy, original roll cage and all! Check out this video of my car doing a precision driving exhibition at the academy. My car is the camera car with the blue roll cage. The car only has 29K original miles, all at the Academy driving sideways for 10 years!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DOMBA72Axw

The 1993 SSP Mustang is Florida Highway patrol car.

The 1986 Saleen is a time capsule type of car with 19K original miles. This car really is incredible.

The 68 California Special is a car I bought last week. Originally a 6 cylinder car that I purchased with no motor/transmission. I have a 5.0 roller FI motor and 5 speed for that car. This will make a great Pro-touring type of Mustang!

Here's mine. I thought I had put a pic of her up but I guess it was somewhere else. Have some pictures of what she looks like now but they are too big and I dont know how to resize them so here's a pic of what she used to look like with Stock cobra rims, air ride suspension, clear headlights and taillights, bodywork. Now she has a stage 1 & 2 suspension from www.stangsuspension.com, American Racing Rebels in chrome, black taillights and projector headlights, body work is still the same except some more primer where I was working on some things.

Nice driving car w/ lots of torque... 491 ft lb rear wheel actually... the Mustang has not received a lot of attention lately as I have been working on my Falcon Sprint. The last Mustang project was a Momo steering wheel and some fabricated brkts like Saleen did on the fox body Saleens for the cruise control buttons. Flo fit seats and the UltraFlo cat back too.

It should be a standard when posting pics to return after each picture so that the form all stays to the left so you can just scroll down and not have to go sideways as well. Well I finally pulled my 66 Mustang out of storage! Hasn't really seen the light of day since before the internet and digital cameras became popular. I've owned it since the early 80's. Traded a worn out Monza 2+2 hatchback for it and drove it daily for years. It's outlasted everything else in my life, wives, homes, businesses, etc. It's been burglarized, a home for racoons that got into my garage, survived 2 divorces, been stolen and recovered, moved around the country, had its parts stored in 4 other locations, and yet I've still got it.

Back in the late 80's I did a valve job on it one day, drove it around the block and decided it'd look cool if I polished the timing chain housing. Before ya knew it I had the whole damn thing torn apart replacing interior stuff, exterior stuff, prepping for paint etc. The original plan almost 30 years ago was a stock appearing wolf in sheeps clothing street car, a stoplight street fighter. I built an ole school 302 30 over nitrous engne for it but got sidetracked by other things/projects and it sat.

Well I'm gonna get it back together, so I've concentrated the car and all the parts that haven't been lost or stolen in one location and I'm going to make it whole and running again. After its almost a whole car again I'll come up with a plan for the build. Since we have digital cameras and internet now heres a pic I took last week.

Home Depot! I fabricated them..just got a piece of aluminum stock 1/8" x 2" I think...cut, drilled, trimmed and brush finished them out for the CC switches..they sandwich between the Momo adaptor and the wheel held by the wheel fasteners. I used longer fasteners thru the wheel for the thickness of the brackets. I trimmed out the aluminum pieces with rectangular slots where the factory CC buttons would pop in.

There are 4 pieces of aluminum actually, LH, RH (mirror images) and then a top and bottom filler, all with holes to match the Momo pattern. The RH/LS mirror approach made it easier to fabricate in the garage to ensure they came out symmetrical.. and I only had 2" stock.

As for wiring I reused the factory stuff. I got the idea from the late 90's Saleen's before the airbag wheels came in. Works great!

Sweet! Does the Momo hub adapter have enough brass contacts to allow this, or did you have to modify the hub as well?

Wheels are 18X8 front with a 5" BS and 18X10 rear with a 5.5" BS. I cut the rear down so it is 2 inches narrower then stock to get the dish look on the wheels. Tires are 245 front and 285 rear.

This '95 GT Mustang belongs to a co-worker of mine who wants to build his weekend car into a street/track machine. I've been helping him assemble a houseful of parts into what should be a fun car when finished. It's got front and rear arms, K-member and subframe connectors from UPR, Tokico front struts with a coilover conversion, Varishock coilovers in the rear from CA Chassisworks, a Maximum Motorsports panhard bar and Steeda front and rear swaybars. Brakes and wheels are Cobra from Ford Motorsport, as are the 3.73 rear gears and Trac-loc diff with carbon clutches, Tires are 275-40 from Sumitomo. A TA Performance rear cover strengthens the 8.8 housing with Moser axles. A Competition Engineering 8 point rollcage was a "real Joy" to install. Corbeau seats and 5-point camlock harnesses are found inside along with 8 Autometer Ultralight guages.
Next up is a pair of Maximum Motorsport adjustable front strut plates and relocating the battery to the trunk using an Interstate Batteries kit. It currenty runs a stock 5.0 and T-5, but a Procharged 331 and T-56 are in the works, along with new paint and carpet. Jared likes a fairly stock appearing car(sleeper). I've really enjoyed helping this young man get his feet wet in performance cars and driving. Next up: NASA HDPE!

Update: Just installed a low mileage 5.0 from a '97 Mountaineer. Has GT-40 heads with Ford Racing 24# injectors, BBK Ceramic coated shorty headers, BBK 70mm T-body, MSD Pro-billet distributor and Ford Racing wires, Maximum Motorsport strut tower brace,Fluidyne aluminum radiator, an AGR rack and pinion and high output pump, Canton Road racing 7 QT oilpan and oil cooler. 331 on hold as Daily Driver engine just died.

just saw a car from the forum on the show trucks of all places.

it was running an autocross at the nashville nats i believe

it was a 67-68 coupe stang its charcoal black with copper stripes comming off the hood and down the fender. and I remember seeing pics of it slammed to the ground with airride

I cant seem to find the pics of it. I thought they were in this thread but didn't see them.

I didnt see many hatchbacks.. So I figure I can post mine :)

Its a 1989 Mustang GT, my first and only car. It is my daily driver, and my brother and I have done all the work on it so far. The car started out all black completely stock. I have since painted the car and done a 5-lug conversion with 17x9 and 17x10.5 deep dish bullit wheels. Also, I have put in a 12" alpine type r sub and a pro 5.0 short shifter. other than those few mods, the car is bone stock.

I have big plans for the car in the future (since I have no money and in college lol). The plan for the car is to take out the 5.0 and add an ls1 with a t-56. Mini-tub probably and different wheels and possibly get the car repainted with new interior. but all that is pretty far down the road.

Sorry for the long post guys, now for the pics

here's the beginning
