Yep.. working on the 4th of july is great! Just finished putting the C4 suspension back under the "project" car. Front sub, motor/trans and painting firewall are not far behind.

Here are a few shots of the car down on the ground, off the body jig. Think we are gonna stay with a 40 but can go 315's instead of the vette 275's on it now.

Here are a few shots of the sub painted...would like comments on the blue hue, be sure to look at the one shot of the color close up.
The other shots are of our motor/trans....shot in a titanium color. Don't think we'll get it rolling before we go to GG this weekend but mabey...

Nice! what blue is that? Looks killer! I also like the Titanium on the motor/trans. looking real nice......
Well it's a special color we came up with.:secret: This after about 20 sprayouts and trials. It's pricey, retail on 2gal was over 1k.

The motors are so hard to keep clean, the least little grease/oil stain them. It's hard to keep em looking good. The painted surface is much easier to maintain. Plus it has a satin clear on it so it's durable. That titanium is used thoughout the car...suspension, motor/trans and into the interior (small amount).

Can't take the credit for most of the interior. JNG creations did the work. Gave a few colors and ideas and the rest is his design. It's good to have an interior guy that has had numerous cars win at pebble beach work on our "project".

Still shooting for columbus ... John said I could drive it in the autox
Think I'll spray pam on the front spoiler and see how many cones I can wipe out! You get points for every one you hit right?:drive1:

I'm getting ready to set the motor in and get a feel for the space. I'm going to check the clearances and look to see what accessory drive setup I'm going to use.

I put the back end back onto the rotisserie to pull the rear end out. Need to do some clean up to the rear end and I'm going to remove the sheet metal and install the Mini tubs and paint the underside.

Lots to go not near as far as you are!

it's a 2001 camaro dash with airbag, fuse panel and other holes filled in. not difficult , it's about the right width...closing in around the "a" posts is the hardest thing to make look right. Just requires cutting all the dash out competely and making small brackets to mount it to.

This has to be one of the most beautiful 1st gens I have seen. Can't wait to see a outside completed picture of this car. Really nice mods.

I would like to know more about the gauges that are in it, is it a factory piece or one off custom? Forgive me if the info is in here, I didn't read all of it.

just 01 camaro gauges w/ firebird surround....wanted to do the gauge faces and needles but ran out of time and money.

Thanks for the comments wayne and all those who stopped by at Columbus this past weekend. Sorry I didnt get to meet too many people I was under a shade tree asleep. Thought the car would get a little more attention but your kinda in a Ring/Troy wirlwind and get overlooked. Had some repair issues on the tonaue cover come up in the heat and it pushed like a plow in the autox..but nothing fell off and it completed all 3 laps. Think a spring and bar change will do us a lota good....plus lowering the car in front. Not bad for a car built then loaded in trailer and brought up there...the first miles where from trailer friday morning to pro's pick area. With the rain sunday we just left and came on home...dont know if the car won anything or not, really dont care- and I thought SAC and NCRS shows were bad...politics run amuck!

thanks to the guy at airride who took these shots...cool people

Hi Vince,

The car looks awesome! The attention to detail is outstanding. I'm sorry I did not get to see this car at Columbus.

What size wheels and what was the back spacing? The combination looks great!

yeah it was so busy at Columbus Ron...didnt really get to see much either

The wheels ended up being a 18/19 combo , think a 11.5 rear and 8 in front ...forgot the spacings ...can get more specific if you need it

Think we're gonna sell the car to help in building the new shop, it just seems like a bad time to sell anything....:banghead:

I'm sorry to hear that you are selling the car! Wow you put a lot of work into this one. I would sure like to see the car in person. You did many of the mods I have planned. Thanks for the info on the wheels I also had an idea to run 19 rear and 18 in the front. I've picked up another Camaro a 70 this time. It will probably be running sooner than the 67.

Talk to you soon,

nope ...just trying to get some customer work done right now.

Getting to SEMA is $$ and have not heard much positive as far as returns ....now we'd be up for PRI if anybody needs a car!

On the bright side look for this car in an upcoming issue of Chevy High Performance....more details when I get them :twothumbs

did you happen to weigh them before you mounted tires?
