Has anyone put a 4th gen F body console in their car

Wondering if anyone has put a late 4th gen console in their car. I am thinking of putting one in my 71 firebird, A guy has a 2002 WS6 console for sale, it looks a little wide, and it seems as the shifter boot is offset, wondering if it will work, unfortunately they are in Canada, so if it doesnt' work i will have to try and sell it :( any pics or hints is great!

The toughest part is welding up the mounts for the shifter and Console.. It is a bit wider at the front (wider than the trans tunnel).. easy enough to fix when doing the interior :)

yes, it did look to wide at the front to fit the tunnel, can you snap me a shot from the pass side? I have a manual so it should be easier. Can you explain how you made it fit?

If it doesn't work for you I might be interested in it. I have a DN 5-speed that has an offset shifter, so it might fit pretty good. I think I will eventually get an LS1 with the 6-speed so it should work for that too. Is it black? How much?
