I call it "cream puff". :) I was going for an old school look with the beige and Vintage wheels. Running a twin turbo 402 cid LS2 along with the 4L80E and suspension Mark built into the car. Should be a great cruiser.

About time you posted a larger shot of the rendering. Is it going to be a solid color or pearl/metallic?

it's a solid color, VW Beetle color. I have only painted pearls and metallics and really wanted to do a solid color this time. This kind of fit my idea of an old school color.

I want to start building a pro-touring '64 in the next few years and I am currently collecting all sorts of information on various parts, etc. that can be used on these cars to update them and make them 'streetable'. I will starting a search in the near future for a good body / frame car. Drivetrain is unimportant since I want a setup very similiar to your except I want a LSx engine backed by a T56.

yeah, most of the build is covered here; B car spindles, Hotchkis a-arms and springs/swaybars.

It is the same car. Jody is just "freshening" it up a little. Mark has not owned it for a year or two.

Gotcha! I kept all the information I could run down on Malitude... didn't even think that it could have been the same car. I must say that I liked the original Malitude but the 'new one' will look even better! I'm guessing there will be no real changes except to the aesthetics of the car?

different color, seats, wheels, engine (twin turbo LS2), different EFI (BS3), a few added carbon fiber components in the interior to go with the dash Mark installed, new Ron Davis radiator and fan combo, Nelson Racing headers and wastegate plumbing for the LSX, complete new harness from AAW.
Still retaining Marks suspension combo and 4L80E but added a paddle shifter from Twist Machine.

I know it was a 315/35zr17 with a 17x11 Rim I just don't know the back spacing
Jody, why all the changes especially with the engine? Just curious as I really haven't followed this car or really any other ones that he has built. He does amazing work, I just haven't followed it like everyone else. I really dig the color. Excellent choice.

IMO, a forged 402 LSx TT has way more cool PT factor than an old school TT engine. :yum:
true but the old school TT engine made 1000hp at the wheels and was an aftermarket block.

ah, no. It was maybe 800-850 at the crank. The LS2 will be stronger.

17 X 8" w/5" b.s. and a 245/45-17 up front and 17 X 11" with 5.5" b.s. and 315/35 on the rear.

realize that the car is tubbed in the rear and the rearend is not stock width. You can run whatever offset in the rear that you prefer, then just get the correct rear width to center the tires/wheels in the wheelwells.

What exactly is a "solid" color? Is it a complete lack of any kind of metalflake, pearl etc? Got an example?

It should be done and driving before SEMA; if so I'll bring it by. Pascual ran out of time so I'm finishing the body work. It's at my house, hopefully I'll be spraying in a couple weeks tops.

Yes, that's what I mean, no anything added to your basic color. For direction, look at the colors on cars before additives where invented. There are some really cool colors in the 30s and 40s. And notice that they often did two-tones with a nice pin-strip separator.

Wow, looks like you were making some major changes! Nice. Question though...why start with an already nice, fresh car like that (esp one with its pedigree), and then change nearly everything that made it different? Wouldn't it have been a lot cheaper (and easier) to just build a new car? No offense intended, its your car and your choice what to do with it. and it looks like you are improving on what was already there.
